The Best (and worst) of 2013 & Giveaway!

Wednesday, January 1, 2014
So with 2014 finally here and 2013 finally gone. We're moving on to a bigger and better year. But we should definitely reflect on 2013 just for funsies mainly. So I'm going to give you guys a couple lists of books that I loved the most and maybe hated the most this year.

Also because I'm a fun person, I'm going to do a giveaway or two, so all you have to do is tell me (in the comments) which of the books off of my list that you want to love with me but didn't get the chance to read in 2013 and I'll give it to you in 2014. I'll use a random generator to pick a number based off of the number your comment was.

Giveaway is open to US and Canada. Any format is fine. I'll email the winners after 1/7/2014.

  1. I have given up on the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. At this point it almost seems as though the author is just living vicariously through her MC *eyeroll*. Anywho..........um, I am a Keri Arthur fan but have not picked up her newer series with Harri Phellecky as the MC. Would not mind trying that one out. Hope you have a wonderful holiday and the new year treats you kindly!

  2. I didn't have a chance to pick up Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs but I know I'd love it if I got a chance to read it. I enjoyed several of the books and series you named, especially Jane Yellowrock, Arcadia Bell, The Baskerville Affair, London Steampunk and Harri Phillecki. I'll add Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin series, it's my favorite series.

  3. Not entering! I am very sorry you are not a LKH fan, I really love both her series. Even though I don't usually like erotica, I don't care in these books.
Best first book in a new series: Written in Red by Anne Bishop.

  5. I loved Frost Burned! Patricia Briggs keeps topping each book and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book! Kristen Calihan was one of my fav "new" authors too and I totally agree with Jane Yellowrock as a kickbutt heroine! I've never read any of the LKH series, too many books that I still need to read and no desire to invest in a such a long series. Thanks for sharing!

  10. Great lists and gives me fun shivers how much we agree. One of my top reads this year was Ever After, love this series so very much! I really love the Jane Yellowrock series as well and have really enjoyed her adventures. I was able to get the Hex Hall series from my library after your prior mention, it was definitely a treat of a read and I am so glad I took your advice. Thank you for all the sharing and hard work you have done for us this past year - You are ABSOLUTELY AwesomeSauce. I am still waiting to get my grubby paws on Frost Burned, love Mercy Thompson, and Fifth Grave this is a hoot of a series. Sending you good thoughts of joy for the coming year with loads of good books with sincere appreciation for all you do.
