Faith Hunter has created this crazy world that I just can't get enough of. Jane is in North Carolina working for Leo. She's handling security for a parlay between one of Leo's head vampires and a vampire petitioning to become a Master vamp. But of course that can't be the only thing happening. Molly and her band of witch sisters are around and Evangeline is causing major trouble. Unfortunately Jane is the only one who can see it besides Big Evan and they don't have the best track record. Not too mention Kem and Rick are dealing with Rick being tainted by were and the fact the Kem wants to kill him, bad.
Jane is in the mix of all of this. And while she's trying to deal, she's also trying to overcome her guilt and grief over several different things. She's also working on coming to terms with who she is. Rick is trying to get back in good with Jane. Although I think she was entirely too forgiving of him. It seems like he might actually be moving on to different things. While Jane is helping with the parlay, Evangeline collides with the vamp who wants to become master Lincoln Shaddox. Molly's sister has gone crazy. Maybe she's been crazy for a long time. But the real problem is that Jane can't seem to convince anyone of what's really going on. And it might just be too late for all of them.
I'm in love with this series. UF is hard and steady becoming my absolute favorite. And this series brings me a lot of ass kicking, mystery, paranormal, and some romance all rolled up into one. I really have no complaints other than the fact that I really want Jane to bone Bruiser and it still hasn't happened yet. I have hopes though! Aspirations for her. Oh and god, I freaking love Beast. Honestly, she is usually my comedic relief in these books. Granted Jane is pretty funny but Beast just takes that up to the next level.
If you are a lover of urban fantasy or paranormal mysteries or anything of the sort, you definitely need to check these books out. They're extremely great and I'm already curious about what is going to happen next to our Jane.
