When I picked up this book I was looking for that WOW moment. I thought I was going to be so over the top in love with it and it was going to be added to my new favorite series. And so of coarse that is just not the case. I had a few problems with the story..
I don't think there was enough depth to the story. Its hard to put my finger on it but I felt the story a little lacking. Its not a very long book so I guess some things where rushed and overlooked.
The instant love triangle and the promise of even more love interests to come. I hate love triangles. I hate hate hate them so I was instantly put off when this was brought up. Plus she doesn't get it on with the guy I decided I liked the most. Why do you girls always do this to me? If we are going to have to deal with a love triangle at least give me some getting it on moments with the guy that I picked. I thought her screwing the one guy was kinda rude to my guy.
Even with that I think this series has a lot of potential. I really liked the world and I thought Secret was a great character. This was a great start to the series though and I am definitley intrigued. I am hoping we can put an end to this love triangle'ness though. And if we bring in more guys for her to juggle around, I might be done with the series. There is only so much I can handle. So I might take a peak at a few other reviews before commiting myself to another book. I am still giving this book 3.5 stars because it did keep me intrigued.
