What a refreshing awesome read! I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but whatever I did it really went above and beyond. Kristen paints us such a vivid world, that is so unique and really makes this series stand out among the hundreds of other vampire books. I am going to have to stop myself from jumping into book 2 right away.
Mal: (the guy main character)
Mal is the epitome of bad boys! And man do I love him. He is a vampire that is cursed. If he drinks from the vein he will kill the person, and if he kills someone he must live with their ghost.
Chrysabelle (the main girl character)
She seems soft and weak but man that girl is anything but. She is a Commarre, she has been raised to give her blood to vampires. She is pretty much a glorified blood slave. She can actually die if she doesn't give blood. But when her master dies she flees and ends up partnering with Mel to prove her innocence. And we see that there is a lot more to Commarre then just blood!
If I had saw this book was in the future 2067 I may have passed it up, I am not really into futuristic books. But I am so glad I am lazy and didn't do any research. Because I loved it! I read it in one day and already I am itching for more. I kinda loved that Mel can't take from the vein because then to keep Chrysabelle strong they have to kiss. I think these two have great chemistry and I want to be there when they both start exploring that. I am really excited that I picked up this book, it was a great choice. I am sure this will be one of the few books that will be going on my 2013 favorites list!
