I have a bad habit of reading so many series I forget about some of them. This is one of those. I'm going to give my opinion on some stuff then really get into the book.

I don't know if it's the style of writing or the rhythm but it took me a while to get into this book. It almost feels choppy when you're reading it. I feel like you're getting pieces and parts of the backstory without really understanding what's going on. And this is the third book in the series.

That being said I'm really starting to get into the groove and I actually really am liking these books. Jaz and Vayl are our two main characters. Jaz is an assassin working for the US government. Vayl works for them as well but he's also a vampire. Vayl is Jaz's boss but there is way more to that story. They have an extremely close relationship, almost romantic but way more at the same time. And not so much sexy times, they're on the brink. But they both have a major issue that's standing in the way but it seems like they're working through the issues.

The government has sent them and their ragtag crew off to the middle east to kill The Wizard, an elusive global terrorist. Jaz's brother is joining them as well with his crew. He also works for the government and they're going to need all the help they can get in this one. The Wizard is always one step ahead of them and they can't figure out how until they figure out that someone in Dave's (Jaz's brother) crew is a spy for him. Not only that but now that Jaz is more than human she is dealing with things on the other side coming after her.

This book had a lot of stuff going on. However the main part was all really cohesive and flowed well. I really like seeing the progression and building of characters in this book. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I think that the further I get into this series the better the books are going to get. I can't wait to see what happens for Vayl and Jaz next.

  1. I always enjoyed the Jaz series. I read it a few years ago, but I remember really liking all the books. I thought of Jaz as kind of a paranormal Sydney Bristow (you know from that old show Alias?) It's good to hear that you are reading an enjoying the books :) Book Savvy Babes
