I love Esteps adult series (The Elemental Assassin) and have been meaning to get into these books for a while now. I decided to start with this short intro book to see what it was all about, and I must say I think I am going to love it! Even though this was a short read only 30 pages, I already want more. I should have known I would love this, its Jennifer Estep we are talking about.

We see what events lead up to Gwen going to Mythos Academy. Which some of those events almost made me cry and one that started it all was just awful. I wonder if we will see more of Paige in other books.  I can't wait to get into a full length novel. Just from the brief glimpse of Logan I am already like I love him. But we will see how that all plays out. Gwen seems like a great character and one I am excited to get to know more. Since this is such a short read there isn't too much to say. If you are thinking about starting this series this is a great place to start. I am not sure if I would pay .99 cents for a short read (I am really cheap) but getting it from my library was great. I will definitely be grabbing the next book to this series fast!

  1. I can't wait to dig into this series too. After I get a copy of review books out of the way I'm jumping in.

    1. Me too. I think I will start the first book in a few weeks hopefully. I have pretty much caught up on most review books (at least for this month) but I do have some library books I want to read before they go back. Man, my book pile is just never ending.

  2. I haven't read this one yet but I loved the first two installments in this series so I'm sure this one will be no different.
