Isabelle Drake
 the nicer side of naughty

Please Introduce yourself to our readers?
I’ve been writing erotic romance for six years. Before writing the super hot stuff, I wrote sweet traditional romances and YA. I love pushing my characters to the emotional edge and then shoving them over. It doesn’t sound very nice, but they thank me later. In my “other life” I’m a professor. I teach composition. Many people ask if my faculty colleagues know about my books. Some do, some don’t. I don’t keep it a secret and I’m happy to say those who do know are supportive.

What are you most excited about at AADSAV?
I’ve never attended AAD, but I’ve heard its awesome. I love hanging out with readers and other writers. And, I’ve never been to Savannah, so I’m looking forward to checking the city out.
I’m going to be on a panel focused on erotic horror. I can’t wait! My latest release with Ellora’s Cave is part of Shivers, which is EC’s erotic horror line. My story, Servicing the Undead, is about a tribe of zombies who survive by having sex.
Here’s a bit about it:
The city of Boston is hostage to a relentless blizzard, and the tabloid Hayden Thomas writes for warns readers of a new strain of zombie roaming the streets. Hayden already knows what these particular undead seek from the living—fierce, ritualistic sexual encounters.
Having sex with an ice-covered, smudgy-eyed woman in tattered fishnets and a barely there miniskirt is Hayden’s first mistake. His second is thinking he’s in control of what happens next. Mattie—one of the undead—forces Hayden to become her servant. And she wants more from him than just endless intercourse…
Any authors you are excited to meet?
Cherise Sinclair, Melissa Schroeder, SA Price and Kelly Keaton. And everyone else.

Tell us about your latest release?
My latest release is a revisited class by DH Lawrence. Total-E-Bound has a new series of revisited classics, and I love them. I selected one of DH Lawrence’s novellas. It was already hot, my task was to make it steamier.
Here’s a bit about it:

A young man returns from war to find two women living on the isolated farm he’d called ho me. Needing to dominate, he sets out to put his life in order.

The bitter, dark night a rugged man appears on their doorstep, everything about the quiet life of Ellen March and Jill Banford changes. The presence of the powerful, brooding man complicates the simple daily existence of their lives on their struggling chicken farm.

Henry Grenfel, a young soldier recently returned from war, is determined to possess the stronger, more forceful of the two women—Ellen. His need to possess her knows no limits and he uses every opportunity he finds to pressure her into breaking her ties with her best friend, Jill. Jill’s dislike for Henry turns into pure hatred when she realizes he’ll stop at nothing to take Ellen from her.

As the tension among the three of them builds, Henry coerces Ellen into submission, forcing her to recognize her own need for the sexual release only he can provide. After Ellen accepts the inevitability of his dominance and agrees to his marriage proposal, the resentment brewing within the love triangle takes an even darker turn.

Any restaurants in Savannah you plan on hitting up? (I would love to know, I want some ideas for myself)
When it comes to restaurants, I don’t usually plan ahead. I wait and see what mood I’m in. Dress up? Casual? Quiet? Not quiet? If there are several in walking distance I like to check out the menus then pick one.

Are planning on dressing up for any of the balls?
Yes! I wish I had some steampunk clothes, but I don’t. Maybe I need to do some shopping. (!) The Riverboat Dinner sounds really fun.

Any sites you plan on seeing while in Savannah?
Fishing! I want to go fishing. I don’t know where yet, or how, I just know that’s what I want to do.
I also like historical bus tours. You know, when someone else plans things and does all the driving. It’s like being a kid again, you don’t know where you’re going or how you got there. Those tours are a great way to see several spots in a short amount of time.
