I don't even know how to write this review. I was warned and now I'm warning you. This book, Faythe.. well she's just something else. And not something else good. Something else bad. And I really have a strong urge to smack her right in the face. Okay, I'm rambling. And getting violent. Let me back up.

In the last book Marc was exiled from the pack and right after him and Faythe had gotten back together. He was exiled by force though, Faythe's dad didn't want him to leave and neither did anyone else but the Council forced them to do it. So Faythe and Ethan are taking Manx across the free territory where Marc is living to go to her trial. This is the first time that Marc and Faythe are going to be able to see each other in a few months. And as soon as Faythe and Marc meet up, things start to go wrong. A large group of strays attack them on the road, which is highly unusual. Strays don't usually ban together for a single cause like that. Things get even more crazy from there on out. Marc disappears, the council is building up their case against Faythe's dad, Manx is dealing with her trial. The Pride is stretched extremely thin.

I have dealt with Faythe being an impulsive baby, I have dealt with her toying with Marc's emotions, I have dealt with her being indecisive about she wants. I'm a woman of the times, I don't believe that women need to be married and I believe that they can rule a group of werecats.. if werecats were real. But I will not condone her actions in this book. Up until now I was on her side. Up until now I was like, "Okay, so she has a short temper. Okay, she's a baby. Okay, she's indecisive." I can deal with that. I can NOT and I will NOT deal with what she did in this book. I am no longer on her side. Rachel Vincent is literally trying to make us hate Faythe, that's the only explanation I have.

I need to read the next book. I need to know what happens. But for my own mental health I have to take a break from this series. I really want to know what happens but I'm scared of what is going to happen next. This is a really good series honestly. It's an emotional roller coaster. And some really sad stuff happens in this book. It was hard to get through because it was so heartbreaking. If you haven't read this series, please do but prepare yourself for the mental anguish to come. Yes I'm being dramatic, yes it's that serious.

  1. Loved this book and the series!

  2. The books kept getting better as the series went for me. Although, I agree what Faythe is impulsive but then again, she's a shifter, not human. Either way, I felt bad for Marc.

    1. I think she's inconsiderate, selfish, and rude. I don't care that she's impulsive because she's a werecat she is inconsiderate of others feelings. I think she's grown, they all have but she's still doing things that are messed up.

  3. Thank you! I am so glad to see someone with the same opinion as me! About this point in the series I became seriously homicidal towards Faythe and could not forgive her actions, not after all Marc had donr for her! I was always on Marc's side big time, loved him, had a really hard time liking her, espeacially after this book. I do believe at this point in the series I actually threw the book down and had to take a walk to calm down but like you I had to finish the series to see what would happen. You're right about her being inconsiderate, selfish and rude!

  4. I"m still deciding if I wanna continue at all.

  5. I read this whole series and I found that every second book was good. This one definitely wasn't one of the better installments.

  6. O now I am scared to start this series. There are better ones out there to love.
