Tell us a little about your books?
I'm the author of the Hereafter Series (which includes Hereafter and Arise, now out with HarperTeen, and Elegy, out in the U.S. on 6/4/2013). The trilogy is narrated by Amelia, who is a ghost trying to find her place in the afterlife despite the intervention of demons, witches, and one very cute human boy.
If you've been to one before any tips for us newbies?
I love RT - it's one of my favorite conventions! Aside from attending every possible panel, a newbie should also take the time to grab lunch or dinner with your fellow attendees. This is an amazing place to make new friends!
Where can we find you at RT? Are you on any panels going to any parties etc.
I will be speaking on the "A Kiss is Never Just a Kiss" panel on Wednesday, and I'll be signing in YA Alley on Teen Day on Saturday. I'll also be Speed Reading with a group of other YA authors in Room B from 5:00 - 6:00 pm Saturday!
Since this event is for paranormal authors, can you tell us more about the paranormal in your book?
The Hereafter Series, and my new book Elegy in particular, isn't just about ghosts. There are also Seer witches who have the power to see the dead, as well as control them; there are Guardians, both of the dark afterworlds and the light; and there are demons, devoid of all goodness. And of course, there are the poor human fools that get caught up in the mess. :)

Elegy, which comes out on June 4, 2013, is the conclusion to the Hereafter Series. In Elegy, Amelia has made a sort of peace with her afterlife: she's defeated the demons of New Orleans, gained some of her sense of touch, and returned to Oklahoma. But the demons aren't done with her yet. In a brutal fashion, they issue her a final ultimatum: turn herself over to them, or watch her friends die - including the love of her life, Joshua. So now the question remains: does she give up her friends' souls....or hers?
Who are you bunking with?
I'm rooming with the unstoppable Anna Carey, and we made sure that our rooms would be connected to Josephine Angelini, Amy Plum, Tessa Gratton, and Natalie Parker. But I also plan on stalking Myra McEntire until she agrees to have a slumber party with us. :)
Why do you attend conventions?
Not only do I get to see my author buddies (which is always nice, in such a solitary profession), but I also get to meet librarians, booksellers, and readers - the people who make my job worth doing, and who inspire me the most!
A stalker ghost, misguided Seers, and spellbinding wraiths—Amelia Ashley has faced them all. Now her greatest hope is to spend the rest of her afterlife with her living boyfriend, Joshua. But the demonic forces return to give her an ultimatum: turn herself over to the darkness or watch them murder one living person per week until she does.
Amelia fears she might really be doomed, until the forces of light give her another option. She can join them in their quest to gather souls, with a catch: Once she joins them, she can never see Joshua again.
Faced with impossible choices, Amelia decides to take her afterlife into her own hands—and fight back
Books 1 and 2 in Series
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Tara Hudson graduated with a degree in law, mostly because she believed all the horror stories about English majors and their careers in the food-service industry. Luckily, she soon remembered how much she loved telling ghost stories, particularly to her girlfriends who liked visiting abandoned cemeteries as much as she did. Tara currently lives in Oklahoma with her husband, son, and a menagerie of ill-behaved pets.
