Para-RT13 with Nicole Peeler + Giveaway

Introduce yourself to our readers:
Hey y'all! I'm Nicole Peeler and I write the Jane True Series for Orbit Books. They're a six-book urban fantasy series starring Jane, a girl who discovers she's half-selkie (selkies are seal shapeshifters) in book one. Through the course of the series she becomes a true hero(ine): a woman who learns to kick ass to defend the ones she loves. She also meets a few hotties along the way. The books are fun and sexy, and Jane is very snarky but also very sweet.

Is this your first RT Convention?
No, it is not. I've been going since 2009. I really love RT, the magazine and the con, for so many reasons. Everyone is super friendly and fun, the convention is a hoot, and they treat their authors really well. Love RT!

Where can we find you at RT? Are you on any panels going to any parties etc.
Honestly? The bar. I'm at the bar a LOT. Because I'm working hard NETWORKING, people. It's all for the benefit of my career, I swear. But I'm doing a lot of events, actually. I'm a professor of creative writing as well as a writer, so I'm doing some craft panels as well as panels about urban fantasy. You can find all my panels here. When I'm not at the bar. ;)

Tell us a little about your newest book?
My next book is the last in the series, called Tempest Reborn, and it's out May 28th, 2013. I always knew I wanted Jane's series to be six books, so I'm glad I got to tell her whole story. And for any new readers out there, you'll soon be able to gobble up the entire series in one sitting, which I know y'all love to do. Anyway, the sixth book is the culmination of Jane's hero's journey, in which she has to battle dragons, rescue her lover, avenge her friends, and save the world. All in a day's work, ya know. ;)

What inspired you to write in the paranormal genre?
I've always loved the paranormal in books. As a kid I would look for anything with witches, ghosts, fantasy realms...then I discovered Charles de Lint and Mercedes Lackey's Diana Tregarde series, and I was totally hooked on those early urban fantasy books. So when it came time to write my own book, it was a really natural voice for me as I'd been immersed in it for so long.

If we seen you at the bar what drink would be in your hand?
When you see me at the bar, I'll probably be drinking Scotch, a Manhattan, or an Old Fashioned. Maybe a gin and tonic or a gin collins. Basically, I drink like an old man. But no matter what I'm drinking, definitely stop and say hello. I love meeting readers and am happy to chat!
