Just as Sophie Mercer has come to accept her extraordinary magical powers as a demon, the Prodigium Council strips them away. Now Sophie is defenseless, alone, and at the mercy of her sworn enemies—the Brannicks, a family of warrior women who hunt down the Prodigium. Or at least that’s what Sophie thinks, until she makes a surprising discovery. The Brannicks know an epic war is coming, and they believe Sophie is the only one powerful enough to stop the world from ending. But without her magic, Sophie isn’t as confident.
Sophie’s bound for one hell of a ride—can she get her powers back before it’s too late?
I can't believe this series is over. I am so sad. There are a lot of really amazing moments in this book. Basically this is the culmination of everything that happened in book 2. So Sophie's demon powers were put under lock and key, her dad's powers were taken away and the council is on the move. When this book starts it's 3 weeks after Thorne Abbey has burned down and Sophie wakes up in the middle of the forest. At first she doesn't realize it's been 3 weeks but she gets caught up and fast by none other than the Brannicks.
Basically they're all teaming up together, the Brannicks, Sophie and her Scooby Doo gang, and whoever else is going to help to bring down the Casnoff sisters. Right when they have a plan in place, something unprecedented happens. And then more crazy stuff happens. I really don't want to give anything away but this book was incredible. There were so many things that happened that I didn't see coming.
There is kind of a love triangle but not anything that is awful. I feel a lot of times in YA books that they get carried away with love triangles. But I actually was okay with this one. Until the end, Cal, Archer, and Sophie were all working together. Even though Cal kinda has feelings for Sophie and Sophie loves Cal but she doesn't LOVE him.. they're all working together and it's awesome. Archer is being cool and Cal is cool. And it's good. And then the end of the book happens and it makes me cry all my tears.
I love this series. There's a spin off that I'm definitely going to be reading. But seriously, do not pass this up. I think it's a great YA series that everyone would love.
