Once blissfully in love . . .
Poppy Lane is keeping secrets. Her powerful gift has earned her membership in the Society for the Suppression of Supernaturals, but she must keep both her ability and her alliance with the Society from her husband, Winston. Yet when Winston is brutally attacked by a werewolf, Poppy's secrets are revealed, leaving Winston's trust in her as broken as his body. Now Poppy will do anything to win back his affections . . .
Their relationship is now put to the ultimate test.
Winston Lane soon regains his physical strength but his face and heart still bear the scars of the vicious attack. Drawn into the darkest depths of London, Winston must fight an evil demon that wants to take away the last hope of reconciliation with his wife. As a former police inspector, Winston has intelligence and logic on his side. But it will take the strength of Poppy's love for him to defeat the forces that threaten to tear them apart.
I will not lie, I was less excited about Winterblaze then I was any of the other books. But let me explain why before someone throws something at me. I was just not a big fan of Winston. In the past two books I just never cared for him, he just didn't appeal to me. And the fact that he and Poppy are already together I was afraid the spark might not be there. But let me tell you this I was WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG! My deepest apologies Miss Callihan because Poppy and Winston Lane where an amazing couple, I am in love with them!!
Winterblaze was freaking amazing! Kristen Callihan is one talented writer because every time I have opened a book from her I devour it within a day. I can't help myself!
Poppy and Win are extremely hot together. You can feel that chemistry coming off the pages. For a couple that has been together for 14 years you might think them a little stale but that is so not our couple here. It was hard watching them not be together because you could see that they both wanted to. But they had a lot of stuff to get over. And not only did Poppy's past come to haunt them so did Winston's past and if you thought Poppy's secrets crazy just wait until you find out his.
We again are delving further into the paranormal world. Its amazing and exciting and I love what Kristen has come up with. We get to see our favorites from the past too and even Ian in a kilt, I just wish that scene was longer. This book was just an intense read. Once you find out what battles Win and Poppy face your heart will break for them. Its a difficult road and once the pieces all fit together you are thrown for another twist!
I couldn't get over how seriously hot Poppy and Win where. Not only do you get to see them in the now but we are taken back into the past and we see significant moments of their time together including when Poppy learned that a mans dick is hard and not a wiggly dangly thing. (hahaha It was funny.) With each book I always pick out a favorite sex scene, I don't do this with all books but I sure do with the Darkest London ones. So in Firelight my favorite was the "alley scene" and in Moonglow my favorite was the "carriage scene" now in Winterblaze I will say my favorite is........... "bed" scene (the very first bed scene they get it on in, I don't want to say where in case someone hasn't read it) lol I know it doesn't give you much but for some reason this is one my favorite. It wasn't romantic or even nice it was just them craving each other and well you just need to read it. The "window" scene almost made it but there was just something missing at the end that I would have made it the top scene. As you can tell I am really into these sex scenes.
If you haven't started this series yet you must do it and do it now! Each book is uniquely awesome! Firelight and Moonglow where in my top 5 favorite books last year and I am 99.9% sure Winterblaze will be in there this year! This is an Amber I guaranteed book, so make sure you read it! This series is on my re-read list! Its not a very long list but I love it so much I want to read it again!!
