Welcome to this stop on
The Cat's Meow Book Tour!
Today we have a special guest post a review of The Cat's Meow and a ebook Giveaway!

Welcome, everyone! I’m so thrilled to be back at Awesomesauce Book Club, and even more exited to share my new release, The Cat’s Meow. So, let’s get right to it!

Amber and I had a chance to sit down with Libby from The Cat’s Meow and we drilled her on ten things a witch must have, because heck, we’re just dying to know. Here’s what she had to say:

  1. A garden with herbs is a must-have! If you plan to do any magic at all, you had better make sure you have your ingredients handy. I keep all my necessary tools for spells in both my SUV and my home. Trouble doesn’t wait for you to drive home to get the stuff you need to kick evil in the butt!
  2. A strong stomach. Not to scare you or be a little morbid, but in my line of work you are going to see gruesome deaths. It’s just part of the job. And you need to be able to handle it, because not everyone can. Trust me, I’ve seen warlocks turn green and vomit.
  3. A best friend. I know that seems silly, but in this crazy-ass magical world, you need people you can trust around you. Most importantly, a friend who will always have your back and someone you can count on when it really matters.
  4. A truth spell. As much as you want to believe someone is telling you the truth, most times, they aren’t. Having a spell that forces the truth out of a suspect or even a witness is just one of those spells every witch should keep close to her side.
  5. A big car. Now, I know the appeal of a sexy sports car. I always wanted one too. But when you work for the coven, you need to be smart. From my experience, I can tell you that a big SUV is safer, in case you find yourself being chased after. Plus, the trunk size is good. You want a big trunk not only for all your spell ingredients, but to put things like dead cats in it. Yes, I know, so sad…and gross, but it does happen.
  6. A great hex. Of course, I would never tell you to do injure someone with magic, because well, that’s wrong. But every witch needs a good hex. Like, making someone itchy or something not cruel, but annoying! When you have a warlock who is irritating you, those little tricks can really come in handy!
  7. A cleansing spell. Every witch needs to have a spell that will cleanse an area of darkness. If you don’t have one, get one! You’ll thank me later when you come into an area where black magic has been used, especially if you’re a witch like my bestie, Peyton, who can sense evil.
  8. A teleportation spell. Sometimes any witch will find herself in a dangerous situation and at those times, it’s important to get out super fast! Protecting your witch butt is necessary at all times! And what better way to save your butt, then to vanish? But be warned, that spell is not exactly gentle on the stomach!
  9. The second last important thing for any witch to have is a back-up plan. Every witch needs one. You always have to be prepared. You can’t ever expect Plan A will actually work without any hiccups and you can’t go into a dangerous situation without having a Plan B. That’s just being a smart witch!
  10. Lastly and most importantly, a hunky warlock! Why? It makes going through all the dangerous stuff a little easier when you have something sexy to look at it. Even better, when you have someone to kiss your worries away!

BIO:
Stacey Kennedy’s novels are lighthearted fantasy with heart-squeezing, thigh-clenching romance, and even give a good chuckle every now and again. But within the stories you’ll also find fast-paced action, life-threatening moments, and a big bad villain who needs to be destroyed. She lives in Southwestern Ontario with her husband and two children. If she’s not plugging away at a new story—which is rare because her muse is annoying—you’ll find her camping, curling up with the latest flick, or obsessing over Sons of Anarchy, Games of Thrones, Supernatural and Dexter.
Stacey welcomes comments from readers.

Libby is an Enchantress—a witch gifted by the Goddess to conjure spells. When a magical presence is detected around a recent string of feline slayings, Libby takes the case to uncover the reasons behind the odd deaths. Much to her displeasure, the coven also sends a sexy warlock, Kale, to assist her.

While having the muscle around proves to be useful, fighting the attraction between them is worse than a hex, especially considering Kale is keeping secrets. But soon, Libby has bigger problems than the elusive warlock when her spells turn up clues that point to something far more sinister than slaughtered cats.

Now Libby has landed herself in the midst of an uprising. She trusts no one and isn’t safe—not from the warlocks stirring up trouble. Not from the worrisome rebellion she can’t escape. And certainly not from Kale, who is weaving a very dangerous spell over her heart.

I have missed Stacey Kennedy's Urban Fantasy stories so I was dying to get my hands on this book! And that cover, holy awesomesauce that cover is just amazing! So even though I am more of a dog person I was totally excited to read The Cat's Meow. And I must say that with all my hype about the book it totally lived up to my expectations.

Libby and Kale are hot! There is instant chemistry between the two. But of coarse that is just not enough at the time. Libby is not one to be messed with and after her heart being broken by another warlock she is done with them. It also doesn't help that Kale is so elusive, its frustrating but makes me like him more because I love a mystery.

I also loved the magic in this book. Its totally unique. I have read many witch books and each of them usually have something a bit different but I was really impressed with the way the magic was used in this book. You just have to read it to see what I mean. My favorite magic scene was when Libby went to meet a ghost in dreamland. But instead of just talking to the ghost, dream Kale shows up ready to seduce the pants off her. Its a funny scene, shes trying to get info from the ghost for a case and Kale is doing very dirty things.

The Cat's Meow was an awesome Urban Fantasy read. It had some awesome sexy times (my favorites) and the story was action packed. There was some fun twists and a totally drool worthy warlock to keep you turning the pages. Stacey Kennedy's books always keep you on your toes with suspense or she has your toes curling for the epic sexiness!  Can't wait for the next book in this series.

A witch needs a sense of humor, to be able to relax and relativate the horrors she sees. And she needs to be aware of the moontides.
