The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels the human world, is shrinking. If it disappears completely, so does all magic. It's up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to avert catastrophe and keep life from changing... for the worse.

While saving the world is important, it isn't Rachel's only motivation. There's also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, setting off a chain reaction of unfortunate events. That little mistake has made her life forfeit unless she can fix it. It's also made her more than a few enemies, including the most powerful demon in the ever after—a terrifying entity who eats souls and now has an insatiable appetite for her. He's already kidnapped her friend and goddaughter to lure her out, and if Rachel doesn't give herself up soon, they'll die.

But Rachel has more than a few impressive and frightening skills of her own, and she isn't going to hand over her soul and her life without one hell of a fight. She's also got a surprise: elven tycoon Trent Kalamack. With this unlikely ally beside her—a prospect both thrilling and unnerving—she's going to return to the ever after, kick some demon butt, rescue her loved ones... and prevent an apocalypse before it's too late. Or, at least that's the plan..

Ever After I think is my most favorite book in the series so far. So much happened, the good and the very very sad!!! The ending was torturous and makes me want the next book right this darn second!

How do I put into words what this book was like? Its just so hard. I will tell you parts of this book had my in tears, yes I Amber was in freaking tears!! I was so upset and mad and just heart broken. I couldn't believe Kim Harrison did this. One thing is for sure Kim isn't afraid to make us cry!

One of my favorite things to watch besides the hot chemistry between a certain itchy witchy and that sexy elf is how much the characters have grown. Rachel at least tries to plan things and not rush into them, Ivy even though she is not a huge part of the book seems to be moving on, even Jenks is starting to open up more to Belle and the relationship between all 3 of them is just a lot different. I was a little afraid when I saw the changes happening but I am loving it. Rachel isn't alone either she has Al and Trent around a lot. I love seeing the trust Rachel and Trent start to share. It gets me all sorts of excited for things to come.

My 2 favorite men play pretty big roles in this book (Al and Trent) I was really excited about that  . I love any scene with them in it. Trent has really grown on me. I mean I have been in love with him for quite some time now but there is just something new about him. Then a certain douche from the past makes a pretty big appearance. You just have to read it to see what I am talking about.

Kim Harrison has out done herself with this book. The action is packed full, the torturous will they or won't they is in full force, I cried, I laughed and well it was just freaking amazing!  Fans of this series are going to want to get their hands on this book asap, but be prepared to want MORE!!!!

  2. I love your reviews :) Short and simple and right to the point. Trent has grown on me as well...so glad to hear that him and Al are all through the book. They're my fav's as well. I have to say that is was Kim Harrison that had me in a real crying fit earlier on in her series. It was the first time that I seriously balled my eyes out. I told her at a book signing that I threw the book..lol..I was so mad at her. I had become partial to a certain vampire...sigh...but she did an awesome job fixing it and making us feel better in the book that followed. She is an awesome writer. Love her. Thanks for posting your review.
