I’ve seen so many freaky things since I started attending Mythos Academy last fall. I know I’m supposed to be a fearless warrior, but most of the time, I feel like I’m just waiting for the next Bad, Bad Thing to happen. Like someone trying to kill me—again.

Everyone at Mythos Academy knows me as Gwen Frost, the Gypsy girl who uses her psychometry magic to find lost objects—and who just may be dating Logan Quinn, the hottest guy in school. But I’m also the girl the Reapers of Chaos want dead in the worst way. The Reapers are the baddest of the bad, the people who murdered my mom. So why do they have it in for me?

It turns out my mom hid a powerful artifact called the Helheim Dagger before she died. Now, the Reapers will do anything to get it back. They think I know where the dagger is hidden, but this is one thing I can’t use my magic to find. All I do know is that the Reapers are coming for me—and I’m in for the fight of my life.

Mythos Academy series is taking a dark turn. It's still definitely YA and this third book was just as amazing as the first two. I really think this is a contender for my favorite book so far in the series.

Gwen has been chosen as Nike's champion and she's doing everything in her power to live up to that honor. She's training with Logan and his two friends Kenzie and Oliver. And she's working with Professor Metis to work on her magic. Not too mention she's working to try to figure out where her mom hid the dagger that could free Loki from his prison. Girl has a lot on her plate. Especially since she hasn't even been at this school that long and all of this is being thrown on her. Not too mention some crazy things happen in the beginning of this book and Daphne and Logan end up mad at Gwen for a big portion of the book. Which I was not happy about. I just didn't think she deserved it but it played well in the story.

Right from the beginning the book is action packed. Gwen is a great YA heroine, I think. I really like her character, I like to see where she's heading in this series and seeing her grow into her powers. I love Logan. Like, if I was a 17 girl at Mythos, I would fight Gwen to the death for Logan. Okay, maybe that's extreme but man, he's hot. And awesome and kinda perfect. Should I think a 18 year old boy is hot? Probably not. Ugh. Oh well, he is. I really like Daphne and Carson too. Honestly, I love all of these characters in this series. Even Nickamades grows on you.

I can't wait to get my hands on the next installment of this series. Jennifer wowed me with the Elemental Assassin series and that's just continuing on here. Another great book!

  1. Great Review. I thought this book was the best so far, however Crimson Frost was really good as well. I love the direction that this series is taking and am really excited to see what happens next for Gwen and Logan, b/c it has got to get better. ;)

    2. It's as good as the EA series. I mean, it's YA so you don't have some of the more intense stuff but it's still excellent. Love it.
