For a moment, a face flashed before my eyes—the most hideous face I’d ever seen. No matter how hard I tried to forget what had happened, I saw him everywhere I went. It was Loki—the evil god that I’d helped set free against my will.

I should have known that my first official date with Logan Quinn was destined to end in disaster. If we’d gotten into a swordfight, or been ambushed by Reapers, I’d have been more prepared. But getting arrested mid-sip at the local coffee hangout? I didn’t see that one coming.

I’ve been accused of purposely helping the Reapers free Loki from his prison—and the person leading the charge against me is Linus Quinn, Logan’s dad. The worst part is that pretty much everyone at Mythos Academy thinks I’m guilty. If I’m going to get out of this mess alive, I’ll have to do it myself

This series is getting intense. Each book is even more surprising and awesome as the last. I thought the last book was the best in the series, well now I think this book is the best in the series. I hadn't read the blurb or anything, I didn't want any spoilers..even the slightest. And I was so freaking shocked when I read this book. I could not even believe what was going on.

Poor Gwen! I could NOT believe that they arrested her and charged her with all those bogus charges. While reading it, I was gasping and ticked off and it was all very dramatic. Because we're getting the story from Gwen's point of view, you don't really realize that someone would think it was possible that she would be behind all this stuff or a Reaper. But if you take a step back you can kind of see why they might think that Gwen had a part in freeing Loki and everything else.

And I have to point out how much more in depth these books are. We know a lot about Gwen already but in this book we get a good look at Logan's family. We also get a lot of information about the pantheon. It's interesting to see how this world works beyond Mythos Academy.

There were so many twists and turns in this book that I just never expected. I have no idea where the next book is going to take us. This book left us in such an unsure place. It's going to be an anxious wait to see what happens next. If you haven't read this series by Jennifer yet, please do it. This series doesn't disappoint.

  1. I agree. I loved this book. I could not believe it ended the way it did, but I have hope that things will work out by the end of the series, or hopefully be better in the next book.

  3. Great review, I also loved this book very much. And I do hope Logan's father will stop being such a cold fish now, and appreciate his son more.
