Please Welcome
Jenn Leblanc
to today's Authors After Dark Author Spotlight!
We have a fun interview for you to get to more about Jenn and her book world.
Hope you Enjoy!

  • Please Introduce yourself to our readers?
*waves* Hi!!!! My name is Jenn LeBlanc and I am an author and a photographer. My first novel, The Rake And The Recluse, is a six-part serial novel, WITH photographic illustrations. I also spend a lot of time shooting romance novel covers for other authors.

  • Can you tell us a little about the world you've created?
The Rake and The Recluse is set in 1880s Victorian England. It's a bit of time travel, though it's more fish out of water than H.G. Wellian. Don't expect a lot of technical time travel... but do expect time-clashing hijinx. :)

  • What are you most excited about at AADSAV?
EVERYTHING!!! I had so much fun at AAD New Orleans. I think the most fun is just hanging out with readers and chatting about ll the fantasy people we're in love with. :)

  • Any authors you are excited to meet?
All of them! I think AAD is fun for me because I don't read a lot of PNR or fantasy, and there are so many authors there who write that. SO I absolutely LOVE meeting so many new-to-me authors. I'm such a historical junkie, it's fun to step outside the zone and find new reads and voices.

  • Tell us about your latest release?
The Rake And The Recluse is different. It's serialized, which is different from a series, this book MUST be read in order to get the story. It's also illustrated, think romance cover on steroids. Around a hundred images in the full serial. The best description of the novel I've had was Jane Eyre meets Outlander. It's a bit out of the typical book box. But a LOT of fun. :)

  • Any restaurants in Savannah you plan on hitting up? (I would love to know, I want some ideas for myself)
I have no idea! I'm a follower, so I plan on hooking up with whoever is on their way to food and following along :)

  • Are planning on dressing up for any of the balls?
YES!! Though I have no idea what I'll be wearing yet :) I'll probably be making some fun stuff. :)

Coke or Pepsi? Water! I haven't had soda in two years now :)

Hotdog or HamburgerHamburger, wheat bun (yep... that too)

Mayo or Miracle Whip? Neither... but I couldn't stand Miracle Whip even when I did eat mayo. :)

Beach or Pool? BEACH!!

Vampire or Werewolf? Vampire, what can I say, I'm more of a biter than a scratcher.

Chocolate or Vanilla? DARK chocolate.

Zach Morris or AC SlaterAC? That's Mario, right? I never watched the show, but I have seen the characters :)

Please come find me on the internet! I love to chat with readers!

Jenn LeBlanc's The Rake and The Recluse Series

Great Britain, 1880

A woman out of time.
A man stifled by propriety.
A nemesis determined to take her away.
A brother to the rescue.

How will a powerful Duke deal with a woman who doesn't know her place? How will a woman used to the 21st century survive in time where she is considered property?

The original edition was VOTED BEST HISTORICAL ROMANCE BY READERS for the 2012 Bookie Award!

The REDUX edition has been NOMINATED BEST HISTORICAL ROMANCE by READERS for the 2013 Bookie Award!

THE RAKE AND THE RECLUSE Part one brings Francine to the world of the Duke of Roxleigh, clashing worlds in first installment of the completely revised novel, with all new material. Part two finds Francine in the world of the Duke of Roxleigh. The clashing of worlds in first installment of the completely revised novel continue as Francine finds her footing, discovers secrets about her elusive host, and learns more about herself than she ever thought possible.

Francine Larrabee woke up on the wrong side of the century. She was fairly certain she went to sleep in her own comfy bed, but she doesn’t quite seem to be there now. Only adding to her problems is that she has no voice, is constantly being glowered at by a large, stunning man who is obsessed with propriety, and she is apparently betrothed to another horrid little man, determined to ruin her, and any other girls that get in his way.
How does she find herself in the past, when she couldn’t even find herself in her present? How does a self sufficient businesswoman survive in a time when women were still considered property for the whole of their lives and what is she going to do with this man who draws her to him so fiercely.

  2. Hahahaaa!!! I think when I drank soda my preference was Dr. Pepper or Cherry 7-up, but the others were ok too. I'm excited for for AAD this year!! Stella and I are cooking up some extra fun stuff for everyone!!!

    1. I need caffeine in my life. Right now I am on a diet Dr. Pepper kick just because I am trying to lose weight.

I am so excited for AAD. The events already sound so fun.

  3. Great interview ladies, I enjoyed reading it. Will you take one of the cover models with you Jenn? Perhaps you can branch out in paranormal covers, as I love the historical ones you do.

    1. Derek will be in Savannah for some fun. And I'll be hiring some local models as well :) we're really going to have a good time this year!! Amber, I used to drink TONS of diet soda. I gave it all up. The chemicals and all, I miss it though!! I really was an addict. Now I only get caffeine through tea, or coffee. :)

      Thank you for having me!
