Eve Levine — half-demon, black witch and devoted mother — has been dead for three years. She has a great house, an interesting love life and can’t be killed again — which comes in handy when you’ve made as many enemies as Eve. Yes, the afterlife isn’t too bad — all she needs to do is find a way to communicate with her daughter, Savannah, and she’ll be happy.

But fate — or more exactly, the Fates — have other plans. Eve owes them a favor, and they’ve just called it in. An evil spirit called the Nix has escaped from hell. She feeds on chaos and death, and is very good at persuading people to kill for her. The Fates want Eve to hunt her down before she does any more damage, but the Nix is a dangerous enemy — previous hunters have been driven insane in the process. As if that’s not problem enough, the only way to stop her is with an angel’s sword. And Eve is no angel. .

So when I started reading this series a few years ago I was getting all my books from the library and they did not have this. I was too in love with these books to stop so I SKIPPED it. I never skip, and I did it. Anyways I always wanted to go back but I got lost in so many other books and just never got to it. But I finally did it, and I freaking loved it! This was an amazing story in The Otherworld series and I loved it.

Eve is a ghost. So here world is a lot different then the others we read about. The same rules do not apply. I liked going between worlds and seeing what ghost can do and can't do. I felt so bad for Eve in this book too. She lost her life and her daughter who she fought so hard to protect and she is having a hard time letting go and moving on. Luckily Kristoff is there to help. Even though she tries to push him away a little we all know she isn't really trying. I loved the sexual tension between these two. Loved loved loved it.

So we switch to the bad guys POV in this book. Sometimes I like this sometimes I don't. But I really loved it this time. Nix is freaking crazy. She is serious trouble and you never know what is going to happen when she is in someones body. Its dark, dirty and scary. She's horrific and so are the people she is in.

Haunted is now going down as one of my favorites in the series. Its not like any of the other books in the series and it totally sucked me in. I was a little worried about reading Eve's story. I can't figure out why I was, but whatever because this one totally blew me away. Its just a much darker world then we are used to and you really never know what to expect. One day I am going to read these all over again and I will pretty excited to read this one. Kelley Armstrong always proves to me why I love her so much, she is a bad ass!!

Review: The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Series: The Host #1

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

I read this book a few years ago when I was getting off my Twilight kick. I remember enjoying but that is about it. Then the other day I seen a movie trailer for the movie and I was intrigued. So I decided I wanted to re-read it and see. I didn't want to do it too close to the movie release though because then I would be comparing the two very badly. So I just jumped on it. I wanted to see now that my reading tastes have changed so much since the beginning how this book would hold up and you know what? I freaking LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!

The Host kicked major awesome ass! Its over 600 pages and I read it all in one day. As soon as I put it down for a break I regretted it and tried to get back to it as soon as I could. I was determined to stay up all night if I had to, to read it. The story line was awesome, the characters were awesome and I loved it all.

If you see the name "Stephanie Meyer" and you think I am skipping it then you will miss out. Do not compare this to her Twilight series. Its nothing like it. The story had depth and so did the characters. This is seriously a book I can see myself re-reading again.

My biggest complaint is that it left off on a cliffhanger and so where the hell is book 2 at? Come on Stephanie, I don't know what you are doing but I want the second book already. I think people have waited long enough for it.

This is the second review in a row where I just have not talked about the book much. I don't know what is wrong with me.. But I promise this is an awesome book!! Here I will leave you the trailer so you can see a little of what its about.

Shane: Hey everyone, Shane McAllister here. I do the 90s grunge/indie/alternative show on WVMP, the Lifeblood of Rock ‘n’ Roll [link:]. Thanks to Amber for inviting me to talk about what it means to be a vampire.

Regina: It’s totally righteous being a vampire. Totally. *lights cigarette*

Shane: Oh. Um, this is Regina, who apparently tagged along for the interview. She does the 80s punk rock/goth hour, Drastic Plastic. [link: ]

Regina: I made you what you are, babe. Literally. I came because I knew you’d tell people that it sucks to be a vampire. They need to hear both sides.

Shane: You’re just afraid I’d tell everyone how you made me.

Regina: If you ever tell a soul, I will kill you. Permanently, this time.

(Edited by Shane later to add: my “turning tale” of how I became a vampire can be found on Jeri’s website. The story’s called “Last Request.” [link:  Regina hasn’t written hers yet.)

  • OK, let’s get started. What is your Creature?

Regina: We are vampires, glorious immortal beasts! *stretches arms to the sky, waving black-lacquered nails*

Shane: Sure. Whatever.

Regina: “Whatever,” he says. Did you know that’s the name of his radio show? “Whatever.” [link:] So Generation X of him, pretend he cares about nothing.

Shane: *adjusts sleeves of flannel shirt* I’m not Generation X. I hate labels.

Regina: As does every member of Generation X.

Shane (to Amber): See, each of us is “stuck in time” in the era we were turned, so we tend to wear the clothes and speak the slang we did when we were alive. It keeps us comfortable and semi-sane. But we have to fight to keep from becoming walking clichés.

Regina: Speak for yourself, hoser.

Shane: Regina is from the 80s, and Canadian. I bet you can’t tell.

  • Is your creature from a specific part of the world?

Regina: We are everywhere! Cold and heat don’t bother us, so we can live where the weather is totally gnarly. My favourite city is London. I miss it horribly. It’s too sunny where we live now.

Shane: Not that weather matters. Rain or shine, we can’t be outside or even in a room with a window when the sun is up. We’re not like Angel or the Twilight vamps who only have to avoid direct sunlight.

Regina: I don’t know who those people are. Anyway, the rich vamps—which we are not—move north during the winter to take advantage of the really long nights.

Shane: But traveling is hard, because of the sun. There’s a network of vampire-friendly hotels and motels, though, where you can either sleep in a basement room with blackout curtains, or at least in the bathtub and not be disturbed by the housekeepers. Kind of like pet-friendly hotels, but for vampires.

  • Physical Description?

Shane: Yeah, I won’t deny that. Even if you’re a homely human, like I was, becoming a vampire makes you hot.

Regina: I was pretty hot to begin with.

Shane: But seriously, we have to drink human blood and the best way to get it is voluntarily.

Regina: Yeah, big piles of blood-free corpses tend to attract attention, which is the last thing we want.

Shane: Also, killing is wrong.

Regina: Uh-huh, whatever. Anyway, seduction is our main weapon. It’s how we attract willing donors, who hopefully become regulars.

  • What book or series does this creature appear in?

Shane: We’re in the WVMP RADIO series by Jeri Smith-Ready. Sometimes it’s called the Ciara Griffin series, after my girlfriend.

Regina: Is that her name?

Shane: The books are, in chronological order, WICKED GAME, BAD TO THE BONE, BRING ON THE NIGHT, the novella “Let It Bleed,” and last but not least, LUST FOR LIFE, which just came out today.

Wicked Game:
Bad to the Bone:
Bring on the Night:
Let it Bleed:
Lust for Life:]

Regina: I’m so proud of you for not rearranging them into alphabetical order.

Shane: As long as they’re in some kind of order, that’s all that matters.

Wait, what?

Regina: Vampires are kind of OCD.

Shane: Not “kind of.”

Regina: See, we kind of bug out when the world keeps changing around us while we stay the same. So finding something we can control helps us stay sane.

Shane: Regina’s OCD thing is counting. But if you make a Sesame Street crack, I can’t stop her from killing you.

Regina: Shane’s thing is sorting. He teaches a community-college class on how to load a dishwasher.

Shane: I do not. They turned down my proposal.

  • What is the history of this creature? how where they created, where do they come from?

Regina: Vampires have always been. We are eternal. We have walked this earth since the dawn of history, and we shall feed off the last vestiges of humanity as it destroys itself.

Shane: What she means is, we have no clue.

  • What are their strengths?

Regina: Ooh, I’ll show you! Do you mind if I throw you across the room with my pinky finger?

Shane: That’s not very courteous.

Regina: Hey, I asked her permission. That is courteous.

Shane (to Amber): Regina’s right—we’re physically strong and get stronger as we age. Also, older vampires don’t have to drink as often. For instance, I’ve been a vampire since 1995 and need blood a couple times a week. But our oldest vampire DJ, Monroe, was turned in [1940], and he only needs to drink maybe once every six weeks or so

Regina: It’s good to be old.

Shane: In some ways. We also have great senses of smell, vision, and hearing, and have lightning-fast reflexes and running speed. Your basic predator skill set.

Regina: And we’re excellent dancers.

Shane: Again, for the seduction factor.

  • What are their weaknesses?

Shane: This is where the bad side of aging comes in. The older we get, the crazier we get. It’s called “fading.” We lose touch with reality and get more violent around humans. Eventually we either kill ourselves or end up in a Control “nursing home.”

Regina: It’s not just age, though. Some vampires can stay sane when they’re really old, like Monroe. But a lot of vampires start off crazy, because they were bonkers when they were human. Those tend to flip out within a few decades.

*moment of silence*

Shane: I should explain the Control. That’s the International Agency for the Control and Management of Undead Corporeal Entities.

Regina: They’re a bunch of jackbooted thugs.

Shane: No, they’re not. Most of them.

Regina: I didn’t say they weren’t useful jackbooted thugs. They did save my life more than once.

  • How long can vampires live?

Shane: Technically, we’re immortal, so under the right conditions, we could live forever. But I’ve never met a hundred-year-old vampire who wasn’t completely batshit. I wouldn’t want to live like that.

Regina: It’s awesome to stay young-looking for all that time, though. We only get old on the inside.

Shane: But most vampires either starve to death or accidentally burn up in the sun within the first few years. It’s a dangerous existence, so you have to be careful.

Regina: And most vampires suck at being careful.

What do they need to survive?

Shane: Blood.

Regina: And music.

Shane: Blood and music. Or maybe that’s just us.

  • Are they made or born?

Shane: We’re made. A vampire drains a human near the point of death, then feeds them his or her own blood, and they come back to life. As Buffy says, “it’s a whole sucking thing.”

Regina: Who?

Shane: A show that’s after your time. After my time, too, but Ciara is bringing me up to speed on the pop culture of the last fifteen years.

Regina (ignores him, speaks to Amber): Technically we’re undead, not dead. We have heartbeats, we breathe, we even use the washroom.

Shane: That’s Canadian for “bathroom.” We can eat food if we need to, to blend in with humans, but we can’t taste it. The only liquids we can taste are the ones with caffeine or alcohol.

Regina: Thank God for chemicals.

  • Do you like being what you are?

Shane: It took me years to accept what I’d become. At the beginning, I had to be put on suicide watch. But that was more about not wanting to exist at all than about being a vampire. I’ve worked through my issues—most of them—and now I embrace what I am. I’ve found a way to be an undead predator that’s consistent with my ideals.

Regina: I LOVE IT. Period.

Shane: And that’s a good last word. Thanks again for having us, Amber. And hey, Jeri is giving away a signed, personalized copy of any book in the WVMP RADIO series to one randomly drawn commenter. All you have to do is ask me or Regina a question in the comments below. Open to international entries, obviously, since Regina is international herself.

Regina: I like this interview thing. I’m going to do more of them, since I’m so good at it.

Shane: You can follow me and Ciara on Twitter: and

Late-night radio you can sink your teeth into

Recovering con artist Ciara Griffin is trying to live the straight life, even if it means finding a (shudder!) real job. She takes an internship at a local radio station, whose late-night time-warp format features 1940s blues, 60s psychedelia, 80s Goth, and more, all with an uncannily authentic flair. Ciara soon discovers how the DJs maintain their cred: they’re vampires, stuck forever in the eras in which they were turned.
Ciara’s first instinct, as always, is to cut and run. But communications giant Skywave wants to buy WMMP and turn it into just another hit-playing clone. Without the station—and the link it provides to their original Life Times—the vampires would “fade,” becoming little more than mindless ghosts of the past. Suddenly a routine corporate takeover becomes a matter of life and un-death.
To boost ratings and save the lives of her strange new friends, Ciara re-brands the station as “WVMP, the Lifeblood of Rock ’n’ Roll.” In the ultimate con, she hides the DJs’ vampire nature in plain sight, disguising the bloody truth as a marketing gimmick. WVMP becomes the hottest thing around—next to Ciara’s complicated affair with grunge vamp Shane McAllister. But the “gimmick” enrages a posse of ancient and powerful vampires who aren’t so eager to be brought into the light. Soon the stakes are higher—and the perils graver—than any con game Ciara’s ever played…

Turn On. Tune In. Drop Dead.
If you’re just joining us, welcome to radio station WVMP, “The Lifeblood of Rock ’n’ Roll.” Con-artist-turned-station-owner Ciara Griffin manages an on-air staff of off-the-wall DJs—including her new boyfriend Shane McAllister—who really sink their teeth into the music of their ‘Life Time” (the era in which they became vampires). It’s Ciara’s job to keep the undead rocking, the ratings rolling, and the fan base alive—without missing a beat.
For Halloween, WVMP is throwing a bash sure to raise the dead. They’ve got cool tunes, hot costumes, killer cocktails—what could go wrong? Well, for starters, a religious firebrand ranting against the evils of the occult preempts the station’s midnight broadcast. Then, when Ciara tracks down the illegal transmission, the broadcast tower is guarded by what appears to be…a canine vampire? And behind it all is a group of self-righteous radicals who think vampires suck (and are willing to stake their lives on it).
Now Ciara must protect the station while struggling with her own murky relationship issues, her best friend’s unlikely romance with a fledgling vampire, and the nature of her mysterious anti-holy powers. To make it to New Year’s in one piece, she’ll need to learn a few new tricks.…

What's Blood Got to Do With It?
Recovering con artist Ciara Griffin seems to finally have it all. A steady job at WVMP, the Lifeblood of Rock 'n' Roll. A loving relationship with the idiosyncratic but eternally hot DJ Shane McAllister. A vampire dog who never needs shots or a pooper-scooper. And after nine years, it looks as if she might actually finish her bachelor's degree!
But fate has other plans for Ciara. First she must fulfill her Faustian bargain with the Control, the paranormal paramilitary agency that does its best to keep vampires in line. Turns out the Control wants her for something other than her (nonexistent) ability to kick undead ass. Her anti-holy blood, perhaps?
Ciara's suspicions are confirmed when she's assigned to a special-ops division known as the Immanence Corps, run by the Control's oldest vampire and filled with humans who claim to have special powers. To a confirmed skeptic like Ciara, it sounds like a freak fest. But when a mysterious, fatal virus spreads through Sherwood—and corpses begin to rise from their graves—Ciara will not only get a crash course in zombie-killing, but will be forced to put her faith, and her life itself, in the hands of magic.

Con artist-turned-radio-station-manager Ciara Griffin hopes to settle into a normal un-life as a fledgling vampire, with the help of her immortally hot fiancé, grunge DJ Shane McAllister. But she has bigger problems than finding a sane blood donor and a new home for those boxes of mac ’n’ cheese. Ciara’s best friend mourns her like she’s dead instead of undead, and her own maker clearly wishes she’d never been born (again). Worst of all, the WVMP crew calls a Code Black: hippie vampire DJ Jim has murdered a pair of humans—humans who share Ciara’s true last name.
That’s when trouble rolls out the red carpet, straight into Ciara’s life. At Shane’s first live concert, Ciara finds herself face to face with her Irish Traveller cousins, a not-so-welcome family reunion that might hold the key to Ciara’s anti-holy blood. Jim’s spiral into madness makes Ciara an unwilling prize in his deadly feud with Shane. As Ciara clings to what’s left of her humanity, she’ll need her new vampire strength—and old con artist cunning—now more than ever.

Everyone's Out for Blood—Hers
Ciara’s con-artist parents taught her three keys to survival: keep low, keep quiet, and most of all, keep moving. But managing WVMP, the Lifeblood of Rock ’n’ Roll—not to mention becoming a vampire herself—has kept her in one place long enough to fall madly in love, adopt an undead dog...
. . . and make more enemies than she can shake a stake at.
A psychotic DJ, a wanna-be necromancer, and a posse of vengeful hippies would all love to see Ciara get her day in the sun—literally. To protect Ciara, her fiancé, Shane, has traded his flannel shirt and guitar for a flak jacket and crossbow. If she survives to walk down the aisle, will she recognize the man waiting at the altar?
In this final chapter of the award-winning WVMP RADIO series, Ciara must decide who to trust, who to love—and who to kill.

Giveaway Conspiracy

Tuesday, November 27, 2012
Today we have a special Guest Post from Autum @ Always Purrty Design. Its something we where all talking about one night and decided we wanted to post about it and talk about it. So here it is...

Giveaway Conspiracy

You want that book. You see that [________] insert blog or author here is giving them away. You can enter a raffle –copter giveaways. This is awesome. You tweet about the giveaway, make a blog post, leave a comment, become a follower, sign up for an e-mail newsletter and other tasks that give you more entries. You wait patiently to see if you have won, but you haven’t. That’s okay though, you are not very connected to the website or author who ran the giveaway. You can always try to enter more.

This is what most of who enter giveaways through raffle copter think. If you don’t win, no big deal. What if you did win though? What if your name was picked and you never knew? You were never contacted and the prize went to another winner chosen by rafflecopter. Did you ever think about that? You probably haven’t because you trust the people that are running these giveaways. You trust the author that is giving away their book or a $20 Amazon gift card. You trust the people running the blogs. For the most part, you should, but there is a very dark side to this easy way to let people win giveaways. I will not name names and I will not point fingers, but I will share what I have heard through the grapevine.

An author, who we will call, Owl Caprise is coming out with a new book! What better way to get people to follow her blog then to have a giveaway. So Owl sets up a raffle copter giveaway. Her friends and family enter, so do 100 other people, but she wants her friend Squirrel to win. All she has to do is keep picking a winner until Squirrel’s name comes up. Then she hits announce, we are none the wiser. We see Squirrel won! Yay for Squirrel! What we didn’t see is the 1st person that was ignored in the giveaway so that Owl could cheat. Owl wanted her friend to win, and so it came to pass. Seeing the success of the first giveaway, she decides to give away a $50 Amazon gift card, the trick here? There won’t be a real winner at all. Owl sets up the giveaway knowing she will never give away that gift card. This one draws in 800 people and now she has 800 new followers on her blog, JUST what she wanted. You just don’t know that she entered herself under a false name 60 times. The giveaway ends and she picks a winner—she will keep picking until she gets her false name and e-mail. She never has to give away the gift card and we are now following her blog. See there was never a giveaway at all.

This is a REAL thing that is happening. People are abusing the giveaway system. They are picking so their friends win, or whoever they want to win. There is no way for us, as people who enter giveaways, to control this. We have to trust that we didn’t win, but the problem that has arisen, is people are cheating in a big way. You may argue that there truly is no harm done, but that isn’t the case. When people choose to cheat on giveaways, we are being deceived. We are giving them free promotion and endorsements. That isn’t fair that our time is being used under false pretenses. The only fix for this that I could see if for rafflecoptor to allow only 3 winners picked maximum in a week’s time period. I understand that some people don’t respond to winning a giveaway and it may take more than 3 times to get someone to respond, but I would rather put in some extra time than be cheated by people who are preying on us. The system is out of control. If you pick a winner, that should be it, end of story. If you don’t think it’s happening, think again.

Review: Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet by Darynda Jones

Monday, November 26, 2012
Series: Charley Davidson #4
Publication Date: October 30, 2012
Pages: 320
Reviewer: Ambers I & R.
Rating: Photobucket
Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley’s last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she’s insane. The more they refute the woman’s story, the more Charley believes it.

In the meantime, the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, has been cleared of all charges. He is out of prison and out of Charley’s life, as per her wishes and several perfectly timed death threats. But his absence has put a serious crimp in her sex life. While there are other things to consider, like the fact that the city of Albuquerque has been taken hostage by an arsonist, Charley is having a difficult time staying away. Especially when it looks like Reyes may be involved. Just when life was returning to normal, Charley is thrust back into the world of crime, punishment, and the devil in blue jeans.

Charley Davidson never disappoints. I have loved every book in the series and Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet is going down as one of my favorites. Charley has a personality that I totally relate to, she is sarcastic and funny and always has something off the wall to say. Reyes is well drop dead sexy and is king of the bad boys,  I mean he is Satan's freaking son after all.

When we start Charley is holed up in her apartment or Cookies and suffering the aftermath of her near death. Not only hasn't she left her building in 2 months she picked a new hobby, hoarding. Soon though she gets a new intriguing case and it finally gets her out. But she is not the same, she scares easily and also throws up a lot. When we started the case I was afraid it was just going to be a distraction to the main story I wanted, which was getting Reyes naked but its not the case. The case is actually super interesting and even through in a surprise twist.

Its not often that I love a heroine as much as the hero, usually my crush on the guy slightly outweighs my love for the girl but not with Charley. I don't know who I love more. Her personality is golden. She could be my twin. Not only does she name her boobs (she gives them both a name, I just call mine the girls. lol) she names her car (I call mine Big Blue, sometimes Bertha) she is planning to name her couch, something she (and I) never thought about. Now I am on mission with her to name mine. I could go on and on all day about how much I love her but I think you get the hint.

So I guess I should talk a little about the actual book. Well it kicked ass! And that is all I will say. Maybe if you need a better review you can look below at Amber R's.

I love these books. I was anxiously waiting to read this one after the third left us on such a cliff hanger. The ending of this one isn't much better. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Charley has basically become a hermit in the last two months since her incident with Earl. She's also become the queen of the home shopping network. She's not talking to her father, Reyes, or doing much of anything really. But then Harper shows up. Harper thinks someone is trying to kill her, Charley is running low on fundage but she has a really nice set of cake pans! So to help Harper and to make some money, Charley takes on the job. However everything that happened with Earl has really left it's mark and Charley is not at her top notch level. She's definitely not her usual self.

Reyes is around of course. And damn he is fine. He's my absolute number one book boyfriend. He passed up Dorian(Dark Swan series by Richelle Mead). He's such an enigma and I love it. One minute he's a total bad ass demon killing machine and the next minute he's being the sweetest guy to Cookie's daughter. And he's funny but then he's angry. Is he telling the truth or is he the bad guy? I'm glad Charley trusts him mostly. Because I think he's really a good guy and I think he's looking out for her and he always will.

There is much more that happens in this book. Donovan is around and man, he's pretty freaking hot too. There is this scene in the asylum, and well.. really you should just read it. Not too mention this book was as funny as all the others. There were so many times when I was literally laughing out loud and I love it. They are hilarious. And I'm already frothing at the mouth for the next book. Darynda is a cliffhanger queen and I was literally shocked at the end of this book.

Melanie can take one night away from the lab and let her inner vixen out on a fixed blind date - a chance to get crazy with a perfect stranger. The gorgeous hunk she's to meet exceeds her wildest dreams – but he is more than what he appears and Melanie's analytical mind goes into overdrive.

Kade, a slightly older werewolf (at over one hundred years), needs a night way from the Pack. Too many responsibilities and one near miss with a potential mate made Kade hide in his work, the only peace he can find. His brother convinces him to meet the sexy woman for a one night of fun. What could it hurt? But when he finds this woman could be his mate, can he convince her to leave her orderly, sane world and be with him and his wolf-half, for life?

Uhm, to steal a saying from Amber I., Holy Sexcapades! Jeez, this book was friggen sexy. Let's talk about how incredibly hot Kade is. He sounds incredibly fine first of all, dark hair and light eyes? Plus he's really nice! And considerate with just enough of that attitude and push. But not too pushy. He was just super sweet and hot and great in this book and kinda vulnerable. I don't know but I just thought he was super attractive.

I really like that Melanie didn't just fall right in with Kade just because she was attracted to him and possibly had feelings for him. So many times in these books, women just fall right in line with whatever the guy wants no matter what. It feels to forced. I don't know anyone in real life who would do something like that, it just feels forced a lot.

Anyhow this was a hot little number, a quick read. I regretted reading it on my lunch break at work because it's definitely nsfw. Lol. I'm glad I read it and I definitely plan on reading the next in this series. This was the first book that I've read by Carrie Ann Ryan as well and I will absolutely be coming back for more.

Randomly Random Interview

Welcome to our new feature:
Randomly Random Interviews!
We here at AwesomeSauce missed Featuring Bloggers and getting to know them better. So instead of what we did before and only talked books now we are going to talk about lots of Randomness! Hope you Enjoy and make some new friends!!

So I had no one to interview this week and decided to interview myself. Some may call this post a "filler" post and you would be absolutely correct!! So here is me!

  • Welcome to Awesomesauce please tell us a little about you and your blog?
Hi I am Amber I. from AwesomeSauce Book Club, and well if you are here then I think you know about our blog. :)  Lets see I am one of the 2 Amber's on here. I am a mom of 3 kids and have been married for almost 11 years (I think that's right). I think I am the funniest person ever. I am not afraid to laugh at my own jokes. I love Christmas, and really wish I could convince my husband to put up so many lights and decorations inside and outside that I would put the North Pole to shame. But its not working yet. I have no fashion sense. Oh and that Rudolph shirt I am wearing in that picture his nose glows. I've had it for like 5 years and its still working. I wear it every Christmas.

  • 5 random facts
1. Birds and heights scare me to death! We had a pet love bird once and it got out of its cage. I started screaming, rolled to the ground, grabbed  a blanket threw it over my head and ran to my room. I left my kids and hubby to deal with the bird. So scary!
2. I am the most ungirlyest person ever! I don't wear makeup. Hell I only own some cover up stuff because Amber R. gave it to me.  I only plucked my eye brows once again because Amber R. forced me to and did it herself. I don't own a purse. There are a lot of things like this.
3. I have NKOTB shoe laces in my shoes that I wear every day. Also I have Joey (from NKOTB) on my key chain.
4. I am the cheapest person ever. Seriously. I am down to one bra but I refuse to buy more until I find the perfect coupon. I must get everything at a deal.
5. When I was little I had a beloved pair of Ruby Slippers. I loved them and took care of them so much. Well they eventually outgrew me. So you know what my parents said I had to do? Give them to my younger sister. I did not want to see her wearing my shoes. My only other option was to bury them in my backyard and that is what I did. I never told my parents that is where they went. I wonder if they are still there.

  • If you won the lottery, what's the first selfish thing you would do or buy?
A new awesome house. Set way in the country. And had the potential to have a giant library. I don't want anything crazy big (more to clean) but I do want bigger. I have 3 kids, we need some space. Oh and it has to have a pool and a hot tub and hopefully some secret passages. But it can't be haunted.

  • What is your favorite paranormal creature and why?
I am a werewolf girl. They are just hot. I like they have literally that wild beast inside.  I just find them more attractive and bad ass.

  • If you were stuck on a deserted island tell us what 3 things you'd bring in each category?
Drinks- coke (screw it if I am alone on island I don't care about calories) Water (need to stay hydrated) and Beer (it was between this and an Icee machine, but at least beer would help me sleep)
Books-My kindle (it has a never ending battery life in my world) that is all I would need. Then I would grab 2 books I haven't read yet.
Miscellaneous Items-Hammock, sunscreen, and a blanket
Movies- Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, The Goonies
Food-Pizza (hey we will pretend it could work) Vanilla Ice Cream, I don't know some kind of snack food maybe chips or something.

  • Embarrassing blogger moment?

I wrote a review and used the wrong name. I said Jennie instead of Jessie. The author shared my review on her facebook page and some girl commented on how I used the wrong name. She went on and said that maybe reviewers need to start reviewing their reviews and all this other crap. The author was really nice though and was like whatever shit happens. But still, it was embarrassing and totally pissed me off. I mean there was a better way of doing this.
