Mistaken for a murderer, Weather Warden Joanne Baldwin is hunted down and killed by her colleagues. Reborn as a Djinn, she senses something sinister entering earth's atmosphere-something that makes tomorrow's forecast look deadly.

This book was insane. Insanely awesome. I loved the first book so I had high expectations for this one. Besides it's Rachel Caine, who is amazing. I remember in the last book, I wanted more information about Djinn. Well we definitely get it in this one. Jo is turned into a Djinn, kind of, by David to save her life at the end of book one. So basically Jo is getting a crash course in being a Djinn but things go sour quick.

She is separated from David and sent to another Djinn named Patrick. He's supposed to train her because when David saved her life, he actually fused the two of them together. So Jo is siphoning off power from David. Basically Jo needs to figure out how to get power from the universe or else she and/or David are going to die. However, Jo isn't a regular Djinn. Not to mention, when David saved her it caused a huge rift in the universe and things are getting super dicey. And there are some nasty players out there who are after their own agenda.

I really like Jo. She's strong, powerful, funny, headstrong, and she makes mistakes like the rest of us. She's been thrown all these crazy things and she's following along and persevering every time. David is crazy awesome. I just love their relationship. You can tell that they really care about each other.

Learning about this new world is crazy fun too. There is a lot to take in but Rachel delivers it in a way that makes sense and flows nicely. These books are two for two so far. I'm already starting the next book in the series. I can't wait to see what happens with Jo next.

Review: Darkness Hunts by Keri Arthur

Risa Jones, half-Aedh/half-werewolf, can enter the realm between life and death. She can speak to the dying and the dead, and she can see the Reapers, collectors of souls. What she can not yet see is the identity of a stranger murdering women and draining their blood. Now Risa must summon her gifts to find him, even if it means putting her own life in danger. But Risa needn’t look far. The killer knows who she is.

He tells her his victims are infected by darkness and he’s fated to destroy them. Fascinated by Risa, he engages her in a sinister game: the chance to save the life of his next victim by deciphering his series of clues. In a race against time, she enlists the help of the Reaper Azriel.

But as an attraction between them grows, so does the fear that the stranger’s motives are only part of a larger, more dangerous scheme—one that has lured Risa and Azriel into the dark.

You know I have said so many times before but I love Keri Arthur. Although at the beginning of this book I wasn't sure if I was going to be in love. Its mainly due to the fact that I think Risa was being very naive when it came to a certain man in her life. I just wanted to punch her. But I finally got my way. And man oh man the very last sentence in this book has been screaming that I WANT MORE RIGHT THE FREAK NOW!

Once again Risa has a new and not very easy mission ahead of her. First she needs to find the keys but there is also something else that happens. Poor Risa just wants her normal life back but its not in the cards for this girl. There is so much going on in this book but we all know what I was reading it for.... Azriel the Reaper! Man oh man, I freaking love him. I love watching him and Risa interact. I hate watching him fight his attraction. Yes I get it if he gets distracted from his mission the world as we know it could end, but damn it I want him naked!

This series is awesome. If you are a fan of the Riley series you need to read this. We always get to see people we love from that series so you really can not lose.

The main thing I want to talk about I can't because it will spoil it for you. So this is hard. Just know this series is amazing, this book made me want to hug it. Thank you for finally giving me just what I wanted.

I love Keri Arthur. I love this series. I love Risa and Illiana and Tao. I love seeing Riley and Quinn and Rhoan. I love all these crazy situations Risa gets into because of Hunter and her father and everyone else in the world that is out to get her. And literally everyone is out to get her in this book. Risa and Azriel are still on the hunt for the keys. Hunter is still on her case. Her father is still basically threatening her life. And now, while on the hunt for the keys, she attracts the attention of a crazy maniacal serial killer. Risa does not have it easy.

Every where Risa turns she's being betrayed or pushed by someone. Azriel is fighting his feelings and attraction to her. This causes a huge strain throughout the entire book. It's frustrating for both of them and it's frustrating for me. I just want them to get together and the entire situation drives me crazy. The whole thing with Lucien drives me crazy too. Lucien has his secrets we all know that, we have for a while. However, it really comes to the front in this book. Let's just say Lucien is a grade A douche canoe and leave it at that.

Risa has so much stuff thrown out her in this book. I feel so bad for her. I want to take her home, give her some cocoa, and have a long thought out talk with her about choices she makes in her life. She's really naive about a few things in this book. And I've found a pattern of me and Amber I. not liking our leading ladies showing signs of weakness. But really it's the authors being awesome because they're showing that these ladies are human-ish and they make mistakes too.

Either way, Keri hasn't let me down yet. I was completely enraptured with this book and I absolutely can not wait to read the next in the series.

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate.

I must say this series just gets better and better! Each book just adds something more  to it and I just can't get enough. I read this book in one sitting. I wanted to take it slow and enjoy it like a fine wine, but Jennifer just dragged me in and I ended up slamming this book back like a lush! The entire book just had me glued to the pages and then ending totally smacked me back to reality and had me craving for the next book asap! I need the next book in this series like I need air, and the faster I get the better I will be!

Anyways I can not really get too much into the plot without giving anything away for you. I am sorry. Its just going to be one of those gushing reviews. And I will not tell you if I am Team Aidan or Seth but they both got some good action in this book and I loved the turn of events (well until that last page) I have no idea where this series is going but I know I am going to love the ride!

Deity is actually going into my very very limited "To Read Again Piles" not many books like hardly none at all ever make it there but Deity has found a spot!

Curiosity is definitely going to get me dead one of these days. Probably real soon.

I'm Gin Blanco.

You might know me as the Spider, the most feared assassin in the South. I’m retired now, but trouble still has a way of finding me. Like the other day when two punks tried to rob my popular barbecue joint, the Pork Pit. Then there was the barrage of gunfire on the restaurant. Only, for once, those kill shots weren’t aimed at me. They were meant for Violet Fox. Ever since I agreed to help Violet and her grandfather protect their property from an evil coalmining tycoon, I’m beginning to wonder if I’m really retired. So is Detective Donovan Caine. The only honest cop in Ashland is having a real hard time reconciling his attraction to me with his Boy Scout mentality. And I can barely keep my hands off his sexy body. What can I say? I’m a Stone elemental with a little Ice magic thrown in, but my heart isn’t made of solid rock. Luckily, Gin Blanco always gets her man . . . dead or alive.

Web of Lies is another kick ass addition to the Elemental Assassin World. I am totally in love with this series.

Gin is trying to retire but like a true assassin its just not that easy. Especially when she kinda has a soft spot for troubled girls who need her help. So she is back in it to save this girl. Not only is Gin trying to help this girl, some punk ass who's daddy is a powerful man now wants to take Gin down.

I really liked the Detective Donovan Caine. He was sexy and I wanted to have Gin break down the man with his damn morals.. But you know what I am kinda over it. He comes around gets to have awesome sex then he beats himself up over it and makes Gin feel bad. I don't like him now. I really hope Gin just lets him go, hes not worth our time. Plus a new man has caught my eye and I am dying to explore that.

I am in love with this series. Jumping into book 3 tonight. I can't wait to see whats going to happen next. I think Gin is going to go down as one of my favorite kick ass heroines!

I finished the first book and immediately started reading this one. I already know what's going to happen. I'm going to read all of these books and then be horribly depressed when they're all done. I absolutely loved this book.

After some unfortunate events in the first book, Spider's Bite, Gin decided to retire as an assassin. She takes up running the Pork Pit and following her love of cooking. Staying retired isn't as easy as she thought it would be. By happenstance Jake McAllister, the son of Jonah McAllister Mab's hot shot lawyer comes into her restaurant trying to cause trouble. Obviously, with the Spider in residence that's not going to go over well. Gin gets all kinds of caught up in helping Violet Fox, the granddaughter of Fletcher's ex best friend. Detective Caine makes an appearance in this book. I have to say, I'm with Amber on this one. Donovan can shove it. I'm sick of him.

I like that Gin doesn't always get what she wants easily. She's not just like, I want to kill these people and BAM everyone is dead. Things don't always go as planned. And this time she may have met her match. Another stone elemental who is as strong as she is, if not stronger.

This book is amazing. So far, both of these books have gotten five star ratings. I can't wait to see what the next books in this series brings. Gin is still my favorite. I'm not sure if there is going to be another heroine as bad ass as her. These other author's are going to have to step up to the plate!
