Investigator for the Order of Knights of Merciful Aid, Kate Daniels keeps humans safe in Atlanta. But when her werewolf friend Derek is dying in human form, from attack by the mysterious Reaper team at the Midnight Games, she and Curran, the Beast Lord, must fight together to win the Wolf Diamond topaz and save his Pack and her friends.
These books always leaving me wanting more at the very end. I guess since Curran always has something to do with the ending could be the reason for it. But as soon as I read that last page I am like, Oh yes this next book they will finally get it on.. Sorry I have a one tracked mind where this lion is concerned. So with that thought in mind I am always in a dilemma read the next book asap or wait so I can enjoy this series longer. What's a girl to do with the hint of Curran may in face be naked in the next book??
Magic Strikes is another kick ass installment to the Kate Daniels series. Wherever Kate goes it seems trouble is always there. Now its not always her fault but she has a way of finding it. But then again you can kinda blame the shifters because they seem to always be there too. Anyways there are some new creatures in town that nobody can identify and there is also the illegal games. Kate goes "rogue" with some of the other shifters to take these men down before Curran finds out what other trouble they have gotten themselves into. They have 3 days or else Curran will be forced to teach his shifters a lesson and Kate will have to cook dinner for him naked.
Curran and Kate are again torturing me! I mean the hot tub scene was just mean. And even though I love Derek I wanted to hit him for ruining my moment!! But Curran seems to think Kate is his mate and he doesn't seem like the kinda guy to give up. These two are going to kill me with their sexual chemistry if they don't just do it already. So when I read the 4th book I am hoping for some wicked hot sex, damn it!!
Kate used to be a loner but now she has friends. In this book we see how much they mean to her and what she is willing to do to protect them. She is terrified of losing them like she has lost everyone else in her life. We also find out her big secret, which leads me to think there is going to be an even bigger show down coming up in the next books. We almost lost one of my beloved characters in this book and I couldn't handle it. Kate still kept her awesome sense of humor and kicked some major ass.
I think I am officially in love with this series. Another great Urban Fantasy I discovered this year. And I must give a special shout out to Jennifer from The Book Nympho for gifting me the books and challenging me to read them.
