I’d rather face a dozen lethal assassins any night than deal with something as tricky, convoluted, and fragile as my feelings.
But here I am. Gin Blanco, the semi-retired assassin known as the Spider. Hovering outside sexy businessman Owen Grayson’s front door like a nervous teenage girl. One thing I like about Owen: he doesn’t shy away from my past—or my present. And right now I have a bull’s-eye on my forehead.
Cold-blooded Fire elemental Mab Monroe has hired one of the smartest assassins in the business to trap me. Elektra LaFleur is skilled and efficient, with deadly electrical elemental magic as potent as my own Ice and Stone powers. Which means there’s a fifty-fifty chance one of us won’t survive this battle. I intend to kill LaFleur—or die trying—because Mab wants the assassin to take out my baby sister, Detective Bria Coolidge, too.
The only problem is, Bria has no idea I’m her long-lost sibling . . . or that I’m the murderer she’s been chasing through Ashland for weeks. And what Bria doesn’t know just might get us both dead.
How tables have turned, the assassin finds herself on a hit list. No other then Mab has hired someone to take out the Spider, and Jonah hires the same girl to take out Gin, not good odds. But Gin isn't called The Spider for nothing so this new assassin is in for some trouble.
How I love this series. This is a great addition. There is so much happening. Not only is Gin taking out Mab's men every chance she gets she is dealing with Bria. Then there is Fletcher's secret past, Owens sexy ways and protecting this person from that person and just trying to stay alive. So much in one book, and I loved it all!
My only complaint in this book is there was just too much back story. But I have read these all in a row like day after day so I don't need it, but maybe if you are not reading them on top of each other you would.
I freaking love these books. Seriously I can't move on from them. I have to go read book 5 now! They have taken over my life. I find myself trying to get to my kindle at every chance I can just to read them. Tangled Threads was amazing. So much action, so much drama and so much awesomeness! The ending scene was my favorite (well okay it was a tie that scene and a bedroom scene lol) Have no fear Spider's Revenge I am on my way to read you as soon as I am done here!
I don't want to get into what all these books are about, you should read them and enjoy the ride with me. Trust me, I am not the only blogger who loves them. If you don't believe me ask Jennifer @ The Book Nympho, Carmel @ Rabid Reads or Jen @ Red Hot Books to name a few.
I have steadily read through this series and I have no intent on stopping. It seems that Gin has really met her match in this book. Very early we learn that Mab has hired an assassin named La Fleur to come to Ashland to take care of the Spider. La Fleur isn't just any assassin, she's one of the best, trained by generations of assassins. Not only has Mab hired her, it seems that an enemy of Gin Blanco, Jonah McAllister has also enlisted the help of the assassin, to kill Gin. The irony is that, of course, they're one and the same.
Owen is going on my list of book "boyfriends". I absolutely adore him. He is a metal elemental and has a skill for manipulating metal. He's also a bad ass business man and completely rocks that. He's also extremely loyal to his younger sister who he basically raised. His family was killed by Mab when he was younger. Not too mention, he really cares about Gin.
I feel like I haven't mentioned how hilarious these books are so I'm going to end this review by saying these books are absolutely excellent and you should all read them. Also, here's a little tidbit of the funny.
Since it was almost Christmas, I'd donned one of my more festive t-shirts to celebrate-thick crimson cotton with a giant candy cane in the middle of my chest. The fabric was dark enough that Vinnie Volga's blood wouldn't stand out on it much. Happy Holidays. -Gin
