Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley’s last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she’s insane. The more they refute the woman’s story, the more Charley believes it.

In the meantime, the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, has been cleared of all charges. He is out of prison and out of Charley’s life, as per her wishes and several perfectly timed death threats. But his absence has put a serious crimp in her sex life. While there are other things to consider, like the fact that the city of Albuquerque has been taken hostage by an arsonist, Charley is having a difficult time staying away. Especially when it looks like Reyes may be involved. Just when life was returning to normal, Charley is thrust back into the world of crime, punishment, and the devil in blue jeans.

Charley Davidson never disappoints. I have loved every book in the series and Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet is going down as one of my favorites. Charley has a personality that I totally relate to, she is sarcastic and funny and always has something off the wall to say. Reyes is well drop dead sexy and is king of the bad boys,  I mean he is Satan's freaking son after all.

When we start Charley is holed up in her apartment or Cookies and suffering the aftermath of her near death. Not only hasn't she left her building in 2 months she picked a new hobby, hoarding. Soon though she gets a new intriguing case and it finally gets her out. But she is not the same, she scares easily and also throws up a lot. When we started the case I was afraid it was just going to be a distraction to the main story I wanted, which was getting Reyes naked but its not the case. The case is actually super interesting and even through in a surprise twist.

Its not often that I love a heroine as much as the hero, usually my crush on the guy slightly outweighs my love for the girl but not with Charley. I don't know who I love more. Her personality is golden. She could be my twin. Not only does she name her boobs (she gives them both a name, I just call mine the girls. lol) she names her car (I call mine Big Blue, sometimes Bertha) she is planning to name her couch, something she (and I) never thought about. Now I am on mission with her to name mine. I could go on and on all day about how much I love her but I think you get the hint.

So I guess I should talk a little about the actual book. Well it kicked ass! And that is all I will say. Maybe if you need a better review you can look below at Amber R's.

I love these books. I was anxiously waiting to read this one after the third left us on such a cliff hanger. The ending of this one isn't much better. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Charley has basically become a hermit in the last two months since her incident with Earl. She's also become the queen of the home shopping network. She's not talking to her father, Reyes, or doing much of anything really. But then Harper shows up. Harper thinks someone is trying to kill her, Charley is running low on fundage but she has a really nice set of cake pans! So to help Harper and to make some money, Charley takes on the job. However everything that happened with Earl has really left it's mark and Charley is not at her top notch level. She's definitely not her usual self.

Reyes is around of course. And damn he is fine. He's my absolute number one book boyfriend. He passed up Dorian(Dark Swan series by Richelle Mead). He's such an enigma and I love it. One minute he's a total bad ass demon killing machine and the next minute he's being the sweetest guy to Cookie's daughter. And he's funny but then he's angry. Is he telling the truth or is he the bad guy? I'm glad Charley trusts him mostly. Because I think he's really a good guy and I think he's looking out for her and he always will.

There is much more that happens in this book. Donovan is around and man, he's pretty freaking hot too. There is this scene in the asylum, and well.. really you should just read it. Not too mention this book was as funny as all the others. There were so many times when I was literally laughing out loud and I love it. They are hilarious. And I'm already frothing at the mouth for the next book. Darynda is a cliffhanger queen and I was literally shocked at the end of this book.

  2. I loved this series! Got addicted from the first book and am now in agony for the fifth book! I adore Reyes and Charley! I think that when they get past their issues they'll be a force to be reckoned with! I really want them together properly, saying that though if it doesn't work out with Charley then Reyes can always come see me! Lol! I won't send him away and I think I could deal with Satan for a father-in-law!

    1. Hell yes I could deal with Satan too as long as I had a naked Reyes to keep me company I wouldn't care. lol
