My name is Gin, and I kill people. They call me the Spider. I'm the most feared assassin in the South — when I'm not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. My Ice magic also comes in handy for making the occasional knife. But I don't use my powers on the job unless I absolutely have to. Call it professional pride.
Now that a ruthless Air elemental has double-crossed me and killed my handler, I'm out for revenge. And I'll exterminate anyone who gets in my way — good or bad. I may look hot, but I'm still one of the bad guys. Which is why I'm in trouble, since irresistibly rugged Detective Donovan Caine has agreed to help me. The last thing this coldhearted killer needs when I'm battling a magic more powerful than my own is a sexy distraction...especially when Donovan wants me dead just as much as the enemy.

Never judge a book by its name. I've seen this book around for a while but was never interested in looking beyond the name. I am not a spider person. I've seen Spider's Bite and just dismissed it. And now I am calling myself all sorts of names for that because this book was flipping awesome! I have been looking for a new series to get lost in and I am positive that Elemental Assassins is just what I was looking for.

Spider's Bite is freaking awesome! Its one of the best Urban Fantasy's I have read all year. Gin is a bad ass!! I love her. I think Bad Ass is definitely the best way to describe her. She isn't afraid of getting her hands dirty, she can kick or kill pretty much anyone's ass, if she wants something she takes it. Like I said bad ass! I loved all the characters Finn, Donovan, Fletcher... I love the banter with Finn and Gin. They are like brother and sister. Donovan is hot with his silly morals and his worn out jeans. And Fletcher, well he was just like a father to Gin and awesome and that's all I will say about that.

This book even made me cry. I won't tell you why but it was so sad. I couldn't take it. I am still sad over it. Anyways moving on.  Oh and I really want some BBQ or an awesome sandwich.

Once I started this book I was hooked. I am so hooked on this world I will be digging into the next book as soon as I am done writing this post. If you haven't read this book yet you need to now. I am in love with it. Thanks Carmel (Rabid Reads) and Jennifer (The Book Nympho) for talking about this series and getting me super curious that I had to read it.

I wasn't going to read this book. But I left the book I was going to read in my office at work and I only had my kindle with me. What's a girl to do? I started in on this and I fell deeply in love. I think I was half way through the book before I realized how in love I was. Secretly I've always wanted to be in the CIA or be a PI or something. So Gin is my absolute favorite. An assassin that is stealthy, awesome, and well paid. What else could you want? Oh, someone who is hilarious, totally kick ass, and has some depth? Luckily, that's Gin too. She's probably right up there with Riley Jenson, Cat, and Mercy.

Obviously I was a fan of this book. I absolutely love Gin. There are other characters too. Fletcher is Gin's "handler", he used to be an assassin and he took Gin in when she was homeless and on the streets. He's old and crotchety and I like that in an old man. Finn is Fletcher's smooth talking, suave, charismatic son. He's in investments and financials, savory and un-savory. Plus you've got Sophie and Jo-Jo friends of Fletcher and the crew. They both have their special talents.

Now if you're worried that there are only awesome, super in depth characters, and no meat to the story. Well, you're wrong. Not only do we get amazing characters but we get an awesome story line as well. Gin is being double crossed by someone who hired her to do some killing. Seriously, this book is absolutely amazing. I'm on the second book right now and you guys have no idea what you're missing. Absolutely amazing series so far.
