Creature Feature with Amber Argyle

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

Welcome to our brand spanking new
 "Creature Feature"
each week we will have an author on here talking to us about their spin on a paranormal "creature" from their books.

Today's Guest of Honor is Amber Argyle!
Hope you Enjoy!
Please leave a comment to let us know how you like this feature

  • What is your Creature? Witch
  • Name? Brusenna
  • Is your creature from a specific part of the world? No.
  • Physical Description? Golden hair and eyes. Small build.
  • What book or series does this creature appear in? Witch Song Series
  • What is the history of this creature? how where they created, where do they come from? They were formed by the Creators to control nature (seasons, storms, plants). Witch craft is passed from mother to daughter.
  • What are their strengths? Individually, their songs grow and control plants (ie grow a tree from a seed, then use that tree to bash people who come near you). Collectively, their songs control the seasons and storms.
  • What are their weaknesses? Human fallacy. Also, if their voices are silenced (by being gagged, for instance) they have no more power. Also, they're stronger together than apart.
  • How long can they live? Normal life span.
  • What do they need to survive? Same as us.
  • If they shift shape tell us how and why? Yes. They can drink a potion to turn them into seals.
  • What are some unique characteristics that set them apart from humans? Like a siren, their songs are so beautiful that non witches stop what they're doing to listen.
  • Are they made or born? Born
  • Your Creature VS Common Folk lore tell is the differences and similarities? Witches are often portrayed as evil historically. So I took evil chanting and turned it into something beautiful.

About the Books in the Witch Song Series:

The world is changing. Once, Witch Song controlled everything from the winds to the shifting of the seasons-but not anymore. All the Witches are gone, taken captive by a traitor. All but Brusenna. As the echo of their songs fade, the traitor grows stronger. Now she is coming for Brusenna. Her guardian has sworn to protect her, but even he can't stop the Dark Witch. Somehow, Brusenna has to succeed where every other Witch has failed. Find the traitor. Fight her. Defeat her. Because if Brusenna doesn't, there won't be anything left to save.

Brusenna thought it was finished.

She defeated the Dark Witch, saving the Haven Witches from imprisonment and death. She found love and a place to belong.

She was wrong.

Haven is not the sanctuary it appears to be. Even love is in danger of slipping away like water through cupped hands.

Some things can't be saved.

A new threat merges with the old as the Witches’ dark history begins to catch up with them. Only Brusenna knows the extent of the danger and how to stop it, though doing so might cost her everything.

Including her life.

Will Brusenna be required to make the ultimate sacrifice?

  3. I thought this series very unique because their song pretty much controlled their magic. And the world they are in is just not like any other. These witches are definitely not like other witches you read about.
