Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read

Here is this week's question:

Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

Amber I:

hhhmmm, I am not really sure. I don't pay that much attention. I guess if I am sad, I probably wouldn't read. Or if I really wanted to I would read something light and guaranteed not to make me worse.

Amber R:

I know my reading habits are definitely affected by mood. So are Amber I's, even if she says she doesn't pay attention. But they are specific certain moods. Mostly, I love reading no matter what. Usually if I am in a bad or weird mood, I'll read and it'll take my mind off my problems. But, I have this weird type of boredom that even reading can't fix. And when I'm really worked up about something I can't read then either. I can't concentrate on what I'm reading. But mostly reading is the one constant "hobby" I have. If I couldn't read I'd probably die or something else drastic.

What about you?
Please leave a link to your post if you have one so we can comment back!

  1. Totally agree with you girls! Reading is probably my most prevalent hobby too. Love the way you phrased that :)

  2. Nice answer. My habits don't necessarily change my genre, but a bad mood will often drive me to switch things up.

I every once in a while have those types of weird moods too, but that makes them all the more frustrating because I turn to reading for everything!!

  5. Hopping through. I'm usually able to read if I'm sad unless I'm depressed so much that I'm lethargic. But that doesn't happen too often.

  6. It's interesting when you're talking about being so bored that you can't even read. I feel like that from time to time. Lately though, not very often. Thankfully!

  7. I just tend to gravitate to my favorites though once in awhile not even that helps. I hate when that happens.
