The second thrilling installment in Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy spinoff series
Tough, brainy alchemist Sydney Sage and doe-eyed Moroi princess Jill Dragomir are in hiding at a human boarding school in the sunny, glamorous world of Palm Springs, California. The students--children of the wealthy and powerful--carry on with their lives in blissful ignorance, while Sydney, Jill, Eddie, and Adrian must do everything in their power to keep their secret safe. But with forbidden romances, unexpected spirit bonds, and the threat of Strigoi moving ever closer, hiding the truth is harder than anyone thought.
Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Richelle Mead's breathtaking Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles, and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive. In this second book, the drama is hotter, the romances are steamier, and the stakes are even higher.
I thought it wasn't possible to love Adrian anymore then I did, but after reading The Golden Lily, I am admitting how wrong I was. He is just amazing. He is always funny and arrogant and has something crazy to say but some of things in this book had my turning into a gushy mess. Like when he stands up to the others for Sydney, some of the most awesomest things he says to her, his attempts to spend more time with her and there was just so much that had me drooling like a fool over him!!
I loved this one even more then Bloodlines. I just flew through the pages. Sydney really is just a likeable character, I am sorry I ever doubted that I would like her. She is socially awkward and is just way more book smart then anything else. She has grown up fearing the very people she is now becoming friends with. She is walking a thin line and if her alchemist crew finds out just how close she is with these people things are going to end very badly for her.
It was also fun watching Adrian and Sydney grow closer together. You know this is my favorite part of the story. If I could have Adrian on every single page I would totally be okay with that. But there was a lot of other things going on. They discover actual vampire hunters and one of the group finds themselves in serious danger. That is when Sydney has to step up and do something she never ever thought she would do and that goes against all her beliefs.
Like I said I so loved this book!! Its nothing I would compare to Richelle's Vampire Academy because they are really just 2 different stories, and I love them both. After the ending and what happened between Adrian and Sydney I am just dying to get my hands on the next book as fast as I can!
