Kaleb Ballard's relentless flirting is interrupted when Jack Landers, the man who tried to murder his father, timeslips in and attacks before disappearing just as quickly. But Kaleb has never before been able to see time travelers, unlike many of his friends associated with the mysterious Hourglass organization. Are Kaleb's powers expanding, or is something very wrong?
Then the Hourglass is issued an ultimatum. Either they find Jack and the research he's stolen on the time gene, or time will be altered with devastating results.
Now Kaleb, Emerson, Michael, and the other Hourglass recruits have no choice but to use their unusual powers to find Jack. But where do they even start? And when? And even if they succeed, it may not be enough...
The follow-up to Hourglass, Timepiece blends the paranormal, science fiction, mystery, and suspense genres into a nonstop thrill ride where every second counts.
When I started reading this book I had no idea it was from Kaleb's POV until I was like a page in. And I was definitely excited once I realized this because I loved him when we meet him in Hourglass. He was that bad boy and all mysterious so of coarse I was in love. I loved getting inside his head, seeing why he was the way he was. In Hourglass we see him more has a drinking womenizer but there is also those scenes where he shows his other sweet side and now we get to know the whole story.
But I must say something in this book just didn't do it for me and I am not totally sure what it was. It just seemed that while I was reading it I was enjoying it but afterwards nothing really stuck around for me. Having just read Hourglass a few weeks ago I figured I was good to go with Timepiece but somehow I found myself confused with some of the story. I have been sitting here for a few day trying to think about what to say about it but I am still not sure.
I liked the romance. I felt they jumped from not liking to in love too fast but still good. I liked seeing Kaleb chase a girl and get her. There is a lot going on and a lot of action. All of their lives depend on solving this problem before their time runs out. If they don't well some might not make it. The whole time line is messed up and now its hard to tell reality from the rips.
If you are a fan of Hourglass then of coarse you should read this book. Just because I wasn't in love with it doesn't mean it wasn't good. Its just one of those reads I liked while reading but nothing stuck around afterwards. It happens sometimes.
