Amelia—still caught between life and death—must fight for every moment of her relationship with the human boy Joshua. They can hardly even kiss without Amelia accidentally dematerializing. Looking for answers, they go to visit some of Joshua’s Seer relatives in New Orleans. But even in a city so famously steeped in the supernatural, Amelia ends up with more questions than answers…and becomes increasingly convinced that she and Joshua can never have a future together.Wandering through the French Quarter, Amelia meets other in-between ghosts, and begins to seriously consider joining them. And then she meets Gabrielle. Somehow, against impossible odds, Gaby has found a way to live a sort of half-life...a half-life for which Amelia would pay any price. Torn between two worlds, Amelia must choose carefully, before the evil spirits of the netherworld choose for her.

I am almost positive this cover is going to go down in my top 5 covers of this year, and it'll probably be my #1! Its so unbelievably awesome. Even if I didn't love the first book Hereafter, I would have jumped on this book just for that cover.

Now I really really liked this book, maybe not as much as the first book but I am definitely still a fan and can't wait for the next book. My most favorite parts are of coarse Amelia and Joshua get a little cozy together. But they can not go to far or for too long or else Amelia ups and disappears, talk about a mood killer. Even still Joshua is willing to try anything to make it work. While Amelia does have her doubts she still is in love with him and can't bear to lose him..

But like any good story the plot thickens and Amelia has to choose to either stay and try to make it work or risk the demons coming for her and killing all she loves. Its heart breaking because Amelia has spent the last 10 years roaming the world alone and now she has Joshua but to stay would risk his life.

And again like any good story the plot thickens EVEN MORE! There is another villain, and new characters and even new ghosts. Some I come to love, some not so much. But the biggest thing that happens that is going to change Amelia and Joshua's life I can not even start to tell you!! You'll have to see for yourself. And I am still stunned about it and I really have no idea where this part of the story is going to go.

If you love a doomed romance like say  a ghost who falls in love with a Seer and lots of twists then you have found your story. I am super excited to see how this story will end, but what I really wish is that Amelia was still alive and somehow her and Joshua would be the same age and live happily ever after.. One can dream, right??
