After centuries of bitter strife and fatal treachery, the seven powers dividing the land have decimated one another into an uneasy truce. But it's not long before the survivors, outlaws, renegades, and carrion eaters of the Seven Kingdoms gather. Now, as the human crows assemble over a banquet of ashes, daring new plots and dangerous new alliances are formed while surprising faces—some familiar, others only just appearing—emerge from an ominous twilight of past struggles and chaos to take up the challenges of the terrible times ahead. Nobles and commoners, soldiers and sorcerers, assassins and sages, are coming together to stake their fortunes...and their lives. For at a feast for crows, many are the guests—but only a few are the survivors.

My Thoughts

Okay, I have to admit, I wasn't as big of a fan of this book as the first three. I powered through though and I'm glad that I did. The end of the book was worth trudging through the rest. I'm being dramatic it wasn't that bad. It was a shock though. We went from high energy, high action pace of A Storm of Swords. Feast starts out a lot more laid back. Since I read Feast directly after Storm it was an abrupt switch.

King's Landing was ever interesting. Cersei is such a fool. I can't stand her. She's my favorite person to hate. She thinks she's so smart and cunning and she just isn't. I liked seeing her be all paranoid over the Tyrell's. Now there is a story I could've gotten behind. They seem like a bunch that I would like to know. I am really still digging the Dorne's in this book too. Those women are so strong and just awesome.

Like I said, there are so many things that happen in this book. You just have to get used to the rhythm, especially if you read them one after the other like I did. There were some really revealing things that happen in this book. I was quite shocked a few different times. All in all a good book. Another great chapter to this already great story.

  4. These books are so long. But entirely worth it. Amber I, I think you might get a bit bored with them. Not enough sex. LOL. Love you!
