Maya and her friends--all of whom have supernatural powers--have been kidnapped after fleeing from a forest fire they suspect was deliberately set, and after a terrifying helicopter crash they find themselves pursued by evildoers in the Vancouver Island wilderness.

My Thoughts

The Calling picks up immediately were The Gathering left out. And I will just say that this book will totally hook you in. There is just so much happening all the time. Maya and her friends are put in one impossible situation after another. Its quite intense and you will totally enjoy this ride.

And for all of you who have read The Gathering, we do get some answers to secrets we were left wondering about. Of coarse not all of them but enough.  We find out what happened that day in the lake, we learn some of the others "powers" and we find out more of the mystery about their little town. Oh and if you are like me then you fall way more in love with Daniel.hahaha. I can not help myself I love him. I am not a big Rafe fan at all. But we should all have seen this since she seems to like Rafe more. (Okay moving on)

There was a part in the book where I totally wanted to yell at Maya. She was about to keep a huge secret from Daniel just for Rafe and it wasn't something she should keep from him. Thank goodness she came to her senses though. Maya really is just an amazing strong character and I can see why so many people look up to her and trust her judgement.

The characters in this book develop so much. I mean characters from the past book that I thought I would never like totally grew on me. There are some surprises too and not in a good way from a few of them. And Corey, he was just so much fun. Even hurt or running for his life he always had something funny to say. Most of this book we were with so many of the kids and you can see the bonds they all have.

Kelley Armstrong just always delivers an amazing story! She totally rocks my reading world! Any Paranormal Lover is going to want to check out this series The Darkest Powers Series and her adult series The Otherworld. Trust me you will love them!!
