Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1)Moon Called (Mercy Thompson #1)

Werewolves can be dangerous if you get in their way, but they'll leave you alone if you are careful. They are very good at hiding their natures from the human population, but I'm not human. I know them when I meet them, and they know me, too.

Mercy Thompson's sexy next-door neighbor is a werewolf.

She's tinkering with a VW bus at her mechanic shop that happens to belong to a vampire.

But then, Mercy Thompson is not exactly normal herself ... and her connection to the world of things that go bump in the night is about to get her into a whole lot of trouble.

My Thoughts
I have no idea why it took me so long to read this book. Amber has been telling me to read it forever.

Mercy is a mechanic who is living in a small town. She owns her own shop, she works hard, and she lives her life. If only things were really that simple. Her neighbor is an alpha werewolf who has some strange thoughts when it comes to their relationship. She herself is a skin walker, meaning she can change into a coyote at any point. Her old boss is a fae. Her friend is a vampire. Not to mention she was raised by a foster family who are werewolves, who are part of the main werewolf pack in North America.

When a teenage boy shows up at Mercy's shop under sketchy circumstances, her life takes unexpected turns. Adam, her alpha neighbor gets injured, his daughter gets kidnapped, she has to go to the Marrock, who is the leader of the North American pack for help, she's confronted by her first love, plus someone is still trying to take them all down.

This book is one of those books that I immediately have to read the rest of the series. Seriously, it's that good.

  8. I said the same thing about this book. LOL I have no idea why it took me so long to read it! I have the second one sitting on my shelf but who knows how long it'll take me to find time!

I have a solution to you Linky Followers text problem. Mine wasn't showing how many people were following me either but it's because my sidebar titles' text is white (like yours). The text is there, you just can't see it. Put:

    "div style="color:#000000;"

around the script code (with the proper brackets, I can't post the full code in the comments) and it'll work like a charm. :)

  9. wow...this has a lot of the paranormal in it. I like books like that...lots of action. Thanks for sharing...I've seen this book around but didn't think much of it. I'll have to add this to my TBR list so I don't miss it.

  10. Amber I: At least I've read this and I TOTALLY LOVED IT! It's just a shame that PBriggs is not as steamy as her other contemporary UF Authors. The passion is very much bridled.

I still have to read her Alpha and Omega series but I like PBrigg's writing style.

  11. Great review! I totally love the Mercy Thompson series -- so glad you've discovered it. Patricia Briggs also writes the Alpha and Omega series with some crossover characters. It has a different flavor but is also very good.

  15. I love Mercy and Adam Hauptman. Glad you liked the book. I love this series AND I actually live the the city that this series is based in. It was so weird reading these books because I knew the areas she was talking about. I was so disappointed with myself that I only read these books last year and I've been living in this area for almost 10 years.

  16. I'm glad to see some other people missed it at first too. Now I don't feel so bad. And maybe Amber I. will cut me some slack. Lol

  17. I liked this series but it's a little too far into the strict Urban Fantasy corner for me. I need at least the tantalizing promise of a little smutty action down the road! Man, what I would give to see Adam work his mojo on Mercy! Mmmm!

  18. This is a great series! I was lucky enough to get the first book for free on Amazon. A couple of the books are a bit dark. I really like Samuel especially his wolf..white with blue eyes. I also like Warren too. I can't wait for book 6.
