Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander #1)

 Review by Amber I.

An alluring laird
He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart - until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland. Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistible challenge to the sixteenth-century rogue. Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm's length - but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve.
A prisoner in time
She had a perfect "no" on her perfect lips for the notorious laird, but Hawk swore she would whisper his name with desire, begging for the passion he longed to ignite within her. Not even the barriers of time and space would keep him from winning her love. Despite her uncertainty about following the promptings of her own passionate heart, Adrienne's reservations were no match for Hawk's determination to keep her by his side...
 My Thoughts

Well I ended falling in love with Karen's Fever series so I thought I should totally give these books a try. I really wasn't expecting much about it. The main reason was the time travel part. But once again Karen always surprises me and I was totally into this book.

Hawk is just down right sexy. He is from the year 1513, he is a sex God, he wears a kilt and he is just sexy!lol Well he has been forced into serving the King and has become a whore for the women. Hes an amazing whore though with lots of talent. Then when thats over is forced to marry. Hawk is so talented in bed his reputation reached the Fairy Queen and because she wants to make her men jealous she decides to tell them that she has been with the Hawk. Well the Fairy men don't like that so they plan on ruining the Hawks life without actually killing him.

Adrienne living in the 90s has been hurt before by one beautiful man and refuses to ever be a fool again. She seems like the perfect person for the fairy's to force upon Hawk a women who will tell him no and torture him. So they take Adrienne and put her in 1513 to be married to Hawk. And the Fairy's get their wish. She is downright cruel to him at times. He as the Fairys predicted falls for her but has to work extra extra hard at it.

These 2 clash so much. He wants her but she is still refusing him even though she does in fact start to fall for him. The once Kings-Whore finally found his heart but its not easy. And even when these two finally come together, the Fairys can still take Adrienne back at anytime.

So I loved this book. I totally think everyone should read it. I loved watching them fall in love and all the beautiful descriptions of the castle and seeing some sexy men in kilts!lol I was totally hooked and already ordered the next few books in the series.
