Review by Amber I
Grace Lynn Stevenson is an eighteen year old girl who recently moved with her wealthy, but busy parents to a new city. She's popular, pretty and rich - what more could a girl want? But deep down, she's sad, lonely and plagued by nightmares.

When she meets Sebastian Caldwood at her new private school, she's inexplicably drawn to him and his strange tattoos. Sebastian always gets what he wants - he simply has to wish it; but he's fighting his own inner demons, and struggling to remember a past that eludes him. When he remembers that he is much older than he looks, he realizes that he's seen many people live and die, including Grace.

Once Sebastian realizes his true nature and finds what he has been searching for the past hundreds of years, he also realizes that it is now up to him to protect Grace from the dangers that have plagued them throughout eternity.

My Thoughts

This book was very up and down with me. I would start to really get into it and then I would just get irritated with the story. I felt Grace was kind of happy being unhappy. She seemed to always want what she did not have. She wanted Sebastian but when she got him she started missing her old friends. Like when she had to go sit with them at lunch. Then when she fully accepted the outcome of what it meant to be with him she started to resent him and when he made it right she started complaining again. I also was a bit put off about how when Clarke was not her boyfriend he became kind of a nice guy, totally not anything like his character was. It just seemed to add more conflict story but it did not fit how we seen him most of the time.

I don't mean to totally complain.

Here is what I did like.

I liked the mystery around Sebastian. I really wanted to know who he was and what he was. He added a lot to this story. I liked how they were first best friends and did not totally jump into anything. For the most part the story was really interesting and I really did want to know how it would end. It was a unique kind of paranormal book. I mean there really isn't a name for what Sebastian is. I liked finding something different.

From Goodreads

Earth Witch, Sabi, has been gifted with the ability to see premonitions of the darkness that threatens human lives. Safe in the Otherworld, she adjusts to these new visions…which isn’t going so well. Luckily, she’s got the sexy Guardian, Ryker to help her work through these visions. He’s intent to show her how to distance herself from them and help her gain control of life. Not that it’s really helping. The visions are leaving her crippled and unable to help pinpoint the killer’s locations to stop the acts from happening.

If that’s not enough to deal with, she soon begins to see vampires on a killing rampage in San Francisco. Vampires are being born and left to fend for themselves, resulting in innocent lives being taken while they’re in the throes of blood lust. But as Sabi’s visions begin to kick up a notch, personal matters need to be put aside. And as the mystery begins to unravel, Sabi will begin to see that these visions are getting far more dangerous and that humans are not the only ones at risk―she is.

My Thoughts

Wow, how I love this book. It was great!! Once I started it, I had to finish it. Ryker and Sabi are just totally hot together. A relationship started on just sex and a mutual attraction turned into such a loving one.

Ryker and Sabi share that same passion Kyden and Nexi had but in a completely different story. Nexi could kick some ass but Sabi needs that bit of protection. She is not weak but she is just not a fighter. And I love seeing the strong man protecting his women. I loved seeing him help her through her problems and watching them both falling for each other. They are an amazing couple and totally balance each other out. Every couple I read in Stacey's books ends up being my favorite.

The story was intense, Ryker was trying to solve this case while helping Sabi deal with her visions and also keep her protected. Sabi got thrown into a more active role and in The Otherworld and still had to try and figure away to control the visions. Plus with all these mass murders they are joined by Kyden and Nexi to help!

Oh and if you love Haven and want to see what's going on with her, then you will totally love the beginning..

This is a great, hot book!! It is filled with so much passion and action!!!!

AwesomeSauce Book of the Week

This week our AwesomeSauce Book of the Week is The Faeriewalker Series by Jenna Black!

GlimmerglassShadowspell (Faeriewalker)Sirensong: A Faeriewalker Novel

I know that this isn't just one book. It's the whole series so far but I couldn't help myself. Of course the lovely Amber I. introduced me to these books. I fell in love after the first 20 pages of Glimmerglass. I couldn't put it down. I am so lucky that I had all 3 books at once because I would have been like a rabid dog to read the next one if I didn't have it.

Dana is the main character and she is half faerie. She's lived with her mom the majority of her life and she's had to be the adult. Her mom is an alcoholic. So she skips out on her mom and goes to Avalon where her father who is a faerie lives. Did I mention that Dana hasn't met her father? Oh yea, and he doesn't even know he has a daughter.

Avalon is the only city in the world that is a mash up of humans and faeries. It also connects with the faerie world. Some faeries live there and some humans live there.

Dana is a rare breed being a half faerie and half human. It even turns out that she has a super rare ability being a faeriewalker. It also gives her a lot of enemies. Seriously, it's a ridiculous amount of enemies for a 16 year old girl who up until a week into the first book didn't even know she had any special abilities. There are a lot of powerful people after her. Because it turns out, that she's a very powerful player in the faerie world.

I would recommend this series to everyone. They are amazing books and an excellent read.

You can check out Jenna Black, the amazing author of these books, here

Sorry this is a little late!

Grey Eyes (Book One, The Forever Trilogy)Grey Eyes (The Forever Trilogy #1)

ebook, 351 pages
Published March 27th 2011
Review by Amber I
From Goodreads

15 year old Anastasia Adams has spent her entire life on run. She and her mother have never spent more than 18 months in any one location, often times leaving with just the clothes on their backs. Despite the havoc that this is wreaking on Ana's social and academic life, her mother offers no explanation as to why it is they're constantly moving, or even what it is they're running from. But that all changes one night in the woods of Pelion, SC--the night the terror catches up with them.
Fearing her mother dead, and having barely escaped with her own life, Ana is whisked away to world of privilege and tradition. It’s a fairytale come to life. The poor girl used to living out of a suitcase is now a resident of one of the most exclusive addresses in the world. The people there adore her and she catches the eye of a young guardian who sees her as a refreshing change to the girls he’s grown up with.
If only they could find her mother. If only she knew the consequences of being born a “conjurer.” If only she knew who that green eyed stranger was, the stranger who’ll tell her about a past too romantic, and too tragic to be real. In the end, she’ll have to choose between the boy who has captured her heart and the stranger she can feel down in her soul, assuring at least one of them an almost certain death.

My Thoughts

I really really enjoyed this book. When I first started reading it, I looked it up on goodreads and seen a few bad reviews and was expecting to be disappointed but I was so wrong! This really was a very interesting book.

Right in the beginning you get hooked. There is so much going on and so many mysteries to unwind. You can't help but get sucked in and try to piece this book together. Plus there is so many cool plot twists, love, vampires, witches, angels and guardians. I can not wait to read the next one.

All the developments this story makes is awesome. Once you think you have everything figured out something new comes along. I loved who she picked to be with. I didn't think she would. I am a little disappointed in the ending though. If you read it you will see why. I just did not think that was cool at all.lol.

If you love paranormal YA romance books then give it a try, I am sure you will like it!

Delicate Freakn' Flower Review and Giveaway

Delicate Freakn' Flower

Expected publication: July 2011
Review by Amber I and Amber R

 From Goodreads
Dammit , just how many toes was she going to have to stomp on before people realized she was a delicate freakin’ flower?

Naomi doesn’t want to follow tradition and settle down with a violence-loving, chest thumping shapeshifter. She grew up in a household with five, testosterone laden brothers where none of the dishes ever matched, the ugly-as-sin furniture could withstand any catastrophe, and where crazy glue was bought by the case.

When fate—with a snicker—makes her meet not one, but two mates, Naomi digs her heels in and refuses to do what her wolf—and her body—demands. No way is she voluntarily allowing herself to get hitched to a pair of dumbass—totally hot and muscled—lacrosse players.

Can Ethan, the towering Kodiak bear, and Javier, the sexy, tanned jaguar convince this she-wolf that life with them won’t be all chaos? And can this delicate freakn’ flower unbend her prejudices enough to recognize she needs a pair of men who can handle her thorns—and her passion?

Warning: this is a hot threesome story where all the focus is on her with pleasurable consequences.

Amber I's Thoughts

Holy hotness!! You may want to read this with a fan on you or have your husband close by.lol. As with every book I have read from Eve you get a spunky girl, hot men, fun, adventure and some great ol' sex!!

I really enjoyed this book and not only for the sexy scenes. You get 2 shape-shifters both destined for one feisty wolf. Most wolves would love to find their soulmate but not her. She tries to fight it and the men try to prove that she needs them. We get a lot of built up sexual tension. But the men not giving up make it worth it in the end. Instead of going at it like bunnies when they wanted to they built a great relationship together and fell in love.

I would love to read more with these characters. I found her family so interesting. I loved how her brothers and dad where these big bad wolves until the Mom comes in and lets them know who is boss. Her mom was funny too when she would try to talk about her sex life to her daughter. That made me laugh.

Great book. The story was awesome, the sex was awesome and I had a lot of fun reading it. I recommend it to anyone who wants to read a sexy paranormal romance!! Heavy on the romance!!

Amber R's Thoughts

Oh mylanta! This was a sexy, sexy book. I love that she tried to fight these two hot shifters. Even though she was so determined that they were not going to be her mates. I think it's so funny that she thought she wanted some bland guy to marry. It was so obvious that it wasn't going to work out for her and that these two sexy men were going to win her over. She was fighting these hot guy so much, if it was me I would have ran right to them with open arms. Haha.

I really loved the surrounding characters in those book as well. Her family was amazing and you could see the strength and overwhelming love that they all had for each other. However, I can totally see why she would want to live in a chaos free world, her brothers would have drove me crazy. Of course, I loved her mom's control over everyone and how as soon as she came in everyone started behaving.

This was a really hot, great read. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a sexy romance. This book was great!

A Warrior's Witch Guest Post(and a giveaway of any Stacey book)

Friday, June 24, 2011
I am so excited to have Stacey Kennedy here with us today. She is sharing with us an awesome scene between Kyden and Talon. If you haven't checked out this book or any of her books then stop depriving yourself and go out and buy some!!

Stacey--
YAH! I’m so excited the blog tour for A Warrior’s Witch has stopped here at Awesomesauce Book Club!  Along the way through this tour, we’ve chatted a bit about the characters, so now over the next few guest blogs I’ll be chatting about some of my favorite scenes in A Warrior’s Witch.
Today, I’d love to share a bit about my favorite chapter in A Warrior’s Witch, and it’s one that takes place between Talon and Kyden near the end of the story. In The Magical Sword series I spent so much time with Nexi, even though Kyden and Talon were there too, but writing a chapter that focused solely on father and son was refreshing. Plus, a tender moment between two Alpha males is just…sigh.
I loved how Talon treated his Guardian son, and I so enjoyed seeing how Kyden responded to his father. To show you what I’m going on about, here is a snippet from A Warrior’s Witch!
The conversation was long overdue and, now, Talon felt ashamed he’d never had the nerve to talk to him before. He placed his hand on his shoulder and squeezed, hoping his touch declared his apology. “Did it cause you sadness, son?”
“Sadness?” Kyden mulled over the question, glancing away from Talon to look out to the warehouse. Finally, he glanced back and Talon saw love shining in his son’s eyes. “No, Father, it didn’t upset me not to have her. Angered me, yes. But I didn’t go without and what anger I felt was never directed at you.”
To celebrate this release I’m giving away reader’s choice from my backlist. Leave a comment with your email address to be entered, and don’t forget to stop by my website (http://www.staceykennedy.com) to choose which book you’d like if you won. Good luck!

A Warrior's Witch (An Otherworld Romance)
Decades old guilt collide with a murder, igniting a battle in a warrior’s soul to choose between love and duty…
Murder has brought Talon, Master of Guardians, as well as Zia, his witch and Master of Witches, to Chicago. The manner of death appears to be a suicide, but Talon is far from ready to close the case. To avenge the Guardian linked to his past, he agrees to take on the assignment, and find her killer.
As they dive deeper into the investigation, they find themselves entering a world where BDSM is the norm. A lifestyle that Zia is uncomfortable with and, rattled by this new development, she is more than ready to return to the Otherworld. But their investigation quickly takes an unexpected twist when they discover that they’re not only hunting a killer but also someone who is controlling supernaturals in Chicago.
Their mission not only brings danger, but also forces Talon to deal with decades old guilt that corrodes his soul. Every event that unfolds only deepens his fight and pushes him to face an ultimate choice—what is more important—his duty to the Otherworld or the witch he holds closest to his heart?
