Under Attack (Underworld Detection Agency, #2)Under Attack (Underworld Detection Agency #2)

She's one of the Underworld Detection Agency's best. But her job is really starting to bite . . .
Sophie Lawson is a human immune to magic, which comes in handy for helping paranormal beings transition into everyday life. But fallen angel Alex Grace and his search for the Vessel of Souls is one curse she never saw coming. Suddenly an unexplainable string of killings and destruction has even San Francisco's demons fearing for their immortal lives. And Sophie isn't about to trust Alex's all-too-vulnerable charm or his secret agenda. Now their hunt is revealing dangerous secrets about Sophie's past, and a malevolent power hellishly close to turning one irreverent human into the ultimate supernatural weapon. . .

This was a good books. It had some things that I've never read about before. I love that, when an author is so creative and come up with all these new ideas.

Sophie is working in the UDA, Underground Detection Agency, trying to get back to normal after she had a crazy year. Unfortunately normal just isn't in Sophie's future. As a human who is immune to magic she is an asset to the UDA. However, with their old boss missing,  there are some changes coming to the UDA. Dixon is a hot vamp who is the new boss, Nina, Sophie's B.F.F and room mate has the hots for him bad.

Sophie is about to learn a lot about herself that she never existed. Like the fact that her ex-boyfriends, ex-girlfriend is trying to kill her to get to the Vessel of Souls. For some reason Ophelia, the ex girlfriend, seems to think Sophie has it and is doing anything to get it. However, there are some big things going on that Sophie is completely clueless about. Her life is about to be turned upside down and she has no idea.

I really liked this book. It had everything that I love in a book. I will definitely be looking for the next book in this series.

Teaser Time!

Nina put out her pinkie, hooked it with mine. "To your family tree. May it not be growing in Hell."

  1. I love how you guys are always finding 'new to me' authors. This sounds good. San Francisco's a perfect place for an Underworld Detective Agency with all that fog and atmosphere.

    Thanks for the review.

  2. this sounds like a good read. I enjoy series so it's nice to catch them on book one and this sounds like my kind of read. From the teaser it sounds like a little humor threaded within also. Thanks for sharing.

  4. I hopped over to check this one out because it is so familiar to me, but I have not read it. Did you have the opportunity to read book one and if so did you like it? I have definitely added 1 and 2 to my wishlist, these are some of my favorite type of reads :)
