Destiny Kills (Myth and Magic #1)

by

 Review by Amber I.

Desire calls. Danger Lurks.
But...
When Destiny McCree wakes up beside a dead man on an Oregon beach, she knows only this: she has to keep moving, keep searching, and keep one step ahead of the forces that have been pursuing her from the heart of Scotland to this isolated spot. Why? The death of her lover has left her alone, with little memory of her past. A glimmering serpent-shaped ring is the one clue she has—and a bargaining chip in a most dangerous game.

Enter Trae Wilson, a master thief with a sexy, knowing grin and a secret agenda of his own. Destiny and Trae both have powers far beyond the human—and both are running for their lives. Together they’re riding a tide of danger, magic, and lust…but with killers stalking their every move, they must use any means necessary, even each other, to survive—until the shocking secret of one woman’s destiny finally unravels.

 My Thoughts

I love Keri Arthur, I have read and loved every book in her Riley Jenson series and Dark Angels series. So I picked up this book without even knowing anything about it and I am so so glad I did. If I researched what this book was about, I am just not sure I would have even tried it. I mean sea creatures and the loch ness don't exactly seem like my cup of tea.. Well I would have been wrong and totally missed out on an awesome book!

I seriously devoured this book. I just couldn't put it down. There is so much mystery going on especially as it starts off on a beach with the main girl not even knowing who or what she is or how she got there. Then in walks or should I say in drives a man who almost ran her over on the side of the road who knows who she is. They both start off not trusting one another but the chemistry is so there!

Destiny has a lot of promises to keep. She was kidnapped in a secret lab for 11 years before she escaped but she left behind her mom and a few small children that were also kidnapped who she needs to get back to free. She also has to hurry and find her dad before he dies alone. Her plate is full and the action and suspense is with us the whole time.

Then there is Trae and oh we all like Trae. He is kinda that bad boy who is falling in love. He is a thief and he is willing to help Destiny for a price. The heat with these two is so on! I loved it.

I loved this book. If you love paranormal romance and want some kind of new supernatural then look no further! Destiny Kills is an awesome read and I am sure you will love it!

  1. Isn't that many times the way we do discover some of our best reads? When we're not even expecting them? That is what is so exciting about a book who knows what will cause that warm feeling of satisfaction or frustration that we were left on a cliffhanger to desperately wait for the next installment.

This book sounds good to me too. Thanks for the share!

  6. I probably would not have picked that book up either but I do like the cover. This is why we love bloggers...since you could not put it down, I'm going to have to add this to my TBR. It's nice to have a change in paranormal romance instead of the same kind of story line. Thanks for sharing as always.

  7. You're not weird Amber, we just all have different tastes in books! I have to be careful with my money so a lot of the time I'm really careful about the books I buy too, if I'm not sure if I'm going to like a book, I usually read it from the library first and then buy it. :)

  8. I love the library. I use it all the time. I actually got this book from paperbackswaps.com I had a few books on my shelf that I didn't care for so I traded them.

I have so many books I want to own now that I first read from the library. One day I will have my own library.

  10. I remember reading this a while back and the series had slipped to the cracks of my mind. I did not continue the series and will have to look it up again, as I definitely enjoyed this installment and I do not remember why I did not go further, perhaps the next was not out for a while at the time.
