Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices #2)by Cassandra Clare
Reviews by Amber I and Amber R
In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa's powers for his own dark ends. With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister's war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move and that one of their own has betrayed them.
Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will; the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?
As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

Oh man it! Another freaking love triangle in a YA book to break my heart! So if you have not read this book yet I think you should not read my review, I get to involved and things will slip. Of course I knew we were going to have said love triangle but it doesn't mean I am going to like it, or take it with grace, that is not The Amber Way! So I am mad about it. And the sad part is that I love both Jem and Will and don't want to see any of them hurt but now Will is. GRRRRRRRR
There was a lot of things I loved about this book. Let me list a few. (I feel more laxed in my reviews when I know a million people will review it that I feel comfortable just rambling on)
- The Balcony Scene (can we say HOT)
- Magnus kissing Will so so funny
- Will finally getting his hard proof that demon poxs do exist
- Learning what makes Will, well Will
- Oh and WILL WILL WILL, uuum yes I love him so every moment he is there, I am in love
I was such a nervous wreck this whole book, I kept getting hints I would not like the ending, and I didn't. I am not as upset as I could be because I know deep down this situation will be made okay.(and if its not you will see me screaming later) My poor poor WILL!!
There was a lot more to this book then the love triangle. I felt we really got to know everyone so much better this time like Sophie ( I mean we seen her hit Jessie with a mirror and tie her up) Also Henry and Charlotte they finally have this talk and you really see their love.So you see not only the 3 main characters were in the center of attention. But we really didn't solve anything this time around. Everything that we were left with from the last book we are still questioning at the end of this book. This book was still an amazing ride but not much was solved and we still have lots of the same questions.I do love this series so I suggest if you haven't read it yet you do!

Clockwork Prince was devoured in a matter of days. If I wouldn't have had to work, it would have been mere hours. This book was something that I wanted to rush and I wanted to savor. Rushing won.
This mostly felt like a filler book for me, which is fine. Sometimes I don't like filler books but I was okay with this one. A lot of really intense stuff happens. Nothing really exciting happens with Mortmain but we do get a lot of background information and a lot of interlacing. We find that he has his web widespread across a lot of people. Nate resurfaces in this book. We find out that Mortmain has infiltrated the Institute again with another spy. He also has a spy in the Clave. Tessa is still trying to figure out who or what she is. Jem is still ill and Will is still being obstinate as ever.
There is, of course, a love triangle between Tessa, Jem, and Will. I think we all saw that coming. However, I didn't see it ending up where it did. As I was about 3/4ths of the way through this book I was really ticked. Surprisingly by the end, I was pretty much okay. I think that even though Tessa made the choice she did for right now, she only did so because she had already made her decision by the time Will explained things to her. I think she didn't want to hurt Jem and that's why she stood by her choice.
We find out a lot about Will's past. We also see some really touching moments with a lot of the different characters. I really loved the character development in this book. I feel so much more of a connection with them now. All in all, I thought this was a pretty good book. I'm looking forward to seeing where things go with the next in the series. However, I'm annoyed we have to wait almost a year for it. I guess I can be patient.
