Four sisters, three rules to live by, one big problem.

O'Connell Family Rule #1: Don't let the Fae know you see them.
O'Connell Family Rule #2: Don't talk to the Fae.
O'Connell Family Rule #3: Never, ever follow them.

Most people only believe what they can see. Gifted with the ability to see the deep, dark fae of Shadowland, Catherine Rowan Mary O'Connell would prefer not to. When the fae abduct her friend Maya, Cate breaks the sacred O'Connell Family Rules and sets a trap for the handsome fae who haunts her every step.

Rook, High Court Advisor to the Shadow King, has been following Cate since she was sixteen. When Cate reveals herself as one of the fabled "Seers", Rook is stunned—she is one of the few that can permanently open the gates between their worlds. If he turns her over to the Shadow King, his court will rule the human realm.

Cate knows she has precious little time to find Maya. By midnight, the glamour of Mid-Summer's Eve will fade, leaving her trapped forever in the Shadowland, but Maya's abductor won't give up the woman he's mesmerized easily.

The midnight hour is almost at hand. Cate must choose: her freedom or her destiny.

 My Thoughts

In this  novella Theresa Meyers gave us one hell of a good time! We start the action of the story right away and get a little swept off our feet by Rook. Cate has been raised with certain rules but when her friend goes missing, she ends up breaking all the rules, and lets face some rules are made to be broken!

The chemistry between Cate and Rook was instant, it kept me stuck to the pages. There is something so fun about a forbidden romance. Cate is off limits to him because she is a seer and Rook is off limits to Cate because he is a fairy, and they both really try to remember that.

We leave our human world and jump in the Fae World. Cate and Rook set off to the capital, Cate wanting to save her friend and Rook wanting to keep Cate. He is in love with her and wants to win her affection. On the journey we see some new things in fairy and totally fall in love with Rook!

The book was fast paced had lots of action and some nice sexy moments! If you like Fairy books then you should definitely check this out!!

  2. Awesome! I love faery books!:D And I actually read an excerpt of this one on the publisher's website and I added it to my TBR pile as well, it sounds awesome! The main story reminds me of Immortal Highlander (Karen Marie Moning), but I think this one has a lighter, sexier, cute feeling to it. :D

  3. Oh, I do like fairy books and the idea of an adventure to rescue her friend with hidden elements makes this sound very good.

    Thanks for the review.
