Shadowfever (Fever, #5)Shadowfever (Fever #5)

Review by Amber I.

MacKayla Lane was just a child when she and her sister, Alina, were given up for adoption and banished from Ireland forever. Twenty years later, Alina is dead and Mac has returned to the country that expelled them to hunt her sister’s murderer. But after discovering that she descends from a bloodline both gifted and cursed, Mac is plunged into a secret history: an ancient conflict between humans and immortals who have lived concealed among us for thousands of years.
What follows is a shocking chain of events with devastating consequences, and now Mac struggles to cope with grief while continuing her mission to acquire and control the Sinsar Dubh—a book of dark, forbidden magic scribed by the mythical Unseelie King, containing the power to create and destroy worlds.
In an epic battle between humans and Fae, the hunter becomes the hunted when the Sinsar Dubh turns on Mac and begins mowing a deadly path through those she loves.

Who can she turn to? Who can she trust? Who is the woman haunting her dreams? More important, who is Mac herself and what is the destiny she glimpses in the black and crimson designs of an ancient tarot card?
From the luxury of the Lord Master’s penthouse to the sordid depths of an Unseelie nightclub, from the erotic bed of her lover to the terrifying bed of the Unseelie King, Mac’s journey will force her to face the truth of her exile, and to make a choice that will either save the world . . . or destroy it.

You know the phrase "this book has many twists and turns" well that definitely applies to Shadowfever but on a whole new level! Just when you think you have a handle on a situation, there is something waiting in the shadows to throw everything you thought you knew out the window. Going into this book there are so many things we still need to know. And K.M.M weaves almost everything together so perfectly and nothing seems rushed. It makes me want to go back and reread all these books with knowing everything I do now.

I can't not say how many things in here shocked me. Mac finally got so many of her answers and hardly any of them were what she thought. Her sisters killer totally threw me. Never ever would I have seen that coming.

There are so many things I would love to share about Shadowfever but I can't. I don't want to ruin the ride for anyone. This series has been one of the toughest for me. I was not totally in love with them for a long time. I can now look back at the books I thought I didn't love and think WOW, I was being stubborn. So thanks to all of you that kept me reading them,Amber R, Jen @ Red Hot Books, Mariya @ Mystifying Paranormal Reviews and the lady who gave me the gift of the series (She bought me all 5, she is so freaking awesome) Lori @ Romancing the Darkside

  1. Awwww, I get a mention. Hahaha! And Lori is awesome! Forcing you to read them by buying them for you! LOL

So glad you like. I love when I stumble upon those series that I'm like whatever, will read later and then when I read them I am going crazy thinking why the hell haven't I read them before! I hope I stumble upon more soon! Hahaha! And KMM, PLEASE WRITE MORE BOOKS! I KNOW MORE FEVER IS COMMING BUT PLZ KEEP WRITING! I LOVE YOU!!!! AND BARRONS! =DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  2. Thanks for sharing your great review of "Shadowfever"!

I really enjoyed this series especially Barrons!

  3. Ok, I have to say I have been awaiting what you thought of the last book. I didn't like it! Thought the rest of the series was amazing but was let down by the ending. I'm happy that you felt fulfilled by it though...I just wanted more from that last book!

  4. It took my until the middle of book 3 to really start to love this series. And I loved every book after that.

I think it was hard for me to get into them because so many people loved them. And so it would never be my series, its so hard to I guess I am possessive of books and this series would never be mine since I read it so late.

Anyways I loved it! I would love to someday go back and reread them, knowing what I do now.

And I am sorry thelibrarianreads you did not enjoy this last book. It sucks not liking the end of the series. I just read a book that was the end of the series and I am so so mad. It left with NO closure at all.
