The Fallen Star (Fallen Star, #1)
From Goodreads:

For eighteen year-old Gemma, life has never been normal. Up until recently, she has been incapable of feeling emotion. And when she's around Alex, the gorgeous new guy at school, she can feel electricity that makes her skin buzz. Not to mention the monsters that haunt her nightmares have crossed over into real-life. But with Alex seeming to hate her and secrets popping up everywhere, Gemma's life is turning into a chaotic mess. Things that shouldn't be real suddenly seem to exist. And as her world falls apart, figuring out the secrets of her past becomes a matter of life and death.

My Thoughts:

I was confused through the first half of this book. I didn't know why Sophia and Marco were so cold to Gemma. I didn't know why Gemma used to be so unemotional. Did I mention that I like not knowing what's going on in a book? If I can't guess what's going on by the time half of the book is through, then I'm a happy camper.

Not to mention the story line is great. I've never read a book with any ideas like this. It truly blew me away. Don't get me wrong you get some of the paranormal stuff that we all know and love. I love Gemma. I love seeing her experience new feelings and develop her own personality. I also feel really horrible for her.

If an author can drag me into a book where I literally am reading at every free second that I have? That's the kind of book for me. Great book, excellent author. You all should check this series out I promise you won't be disappointed.

  1. I have been seeing this title a lot. Thanks for sharing and the heads up. I know that sometimes when the beginning is a little slow or not quite clear that sometimes my tendency might be to put it aside. I know now when I read this one to just keep plugging cause it will be worth it :)
