Today we are super excited to have Belinda Boring here with us today. Where she answers she answers my late night interview, that I may have accidentally asked waaaay too many questions.lol. But her answers here are awesome!! Read the interview, Read about Her and her new book Cherished and enter to win a copy for yourself!
Every book with a werewolf seems to have different views on how a wolf shifts, how does yours, and what inspired you to have it that way?
I tried to imagine how I would shift when I started writing about the Mystic Wolves. I tried not to focus on the mechanics of it – the muscles and bones rearranging or the pain involved. I hate pain so in my mind, my werewolves would activate the Change and magic would take over. When I wrote Darcy interacting with her wolf, it seemed really natural for her and her wolf being separate but they both reside in the same body. Darcy maintains control and the only time her wolf steps forward to take over is when they are in danger. This happens in Without Mercy - the wolf takes complete control, taking Darcy along for the ride. It isn’t until Mason arrives and helps, that the wolf relinquishes her hold. It’s about survival for them both and I love the dynamics of it.
Besides the wolves in your story, who is your favorite werewolf couple?
I adore Mercy and Adam from Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series. Even though Mercy isn’t a werewolf, Adam more than makes up for it and he makes me swoon every time.
If you had to pick an author to send a thank you letter to for inspiring you to become a writer, who would you pick and why?
Hmm I’ve met some incredible authors who have each played a role in my becoming a writer. Two really stand out though – my best friend, Lacey Weatherford and Deena Remiel. Lacey has been such an incredible support and cheerleader for me. She’s the one who encouraged me to start blogging and from there, to write. She helps me with all the ins and outs of things and I honestly don’t think Without Mercy or Cherished would’ve been published without her. She’s also the one who encouraged me to do NaNoWriMo last year and get started on Broken Promises. She is a godsend and I’m so thankful for her.
Deena Remiel is an author I met through my blog and later at a readers convention called Arizona Dreamin’. We’ve become strong friends and she is always there when I need to chat or talk “shop.” We talk story ideas and she’s always encouraging me to keep going, even when I get discouraged. She’s become a great source of strength and I don’t know what I’d do without her.
Do you see yourself writing more series in the future and if so what supernatural do you think you will pick?
I have quite a few story ideas planned for the future and they all fall within the romance and urban fantasy genre. I know I have a vampire novel outlined, as well as the Brianna Lane series which involves the Fae. I just wish I could either write faster or had more time because there just never seems to be enough of it to go around. I can’t keep up with all the characters wanting their stories shared.
If you could become a supernatural being for the day (besides a wolf) what would you pick and why?
This is a no brainer. I would be a vampire! Why? Because it would put me in the path of all those sexy, tortured, brooding male vampires I read about and I’d finally get my secret wish – a bite! I love the danger and power that comes with being fanged and I think I’d make a totally kick butt vampire! Plus, I’d have the perfect body to wear leather!
What is the best advice you would give to a blogger?
Never be afraid to ask questions. The blogging community is amazing and everyone is so helpful. When I first started, I would visit everyone and wonder how they were able to do certain things. I’m not very tech savvy and it would frustrate me because I couldn’t figure things out. I finally decided to just ask and was completely blown away by how helpful everyone was. That was when I realized I was part of a bigger picture and started having fun. I would recommend bloggers joining in on weekly memes and really getting to know people. Blogging is definitely one of the best things I’ve ever done!
What is the best advice to give to an inspiring writer?
The only voice you need to listen to in your head is the characters. Writing is an incredible experience and nothing beats the rush you feel when the words are flowing. The characters are driving the story, everything is falling into place and you can’t wait to show people what you’ve created. Then along comes the voice I like to call Mr. Doubt. Let me just say, this voice is a jerk and can be relentless. Writing makes you vulnerable because you’re putting a little of yourself into your story. Mr. Doubt will tell you the story is no good, that you’re going to fail and if you publish, everyone will laugh at you. He’ll badger you to quit, to stop following your dreams and my best advice is to find the biggest strip of duct tape you can and seal that sucker’s mouth shut! Yes, publishing can be scary but the rewards far outweigh the risk. Follow your heart and share your story. Don’t let doubt hold you back!
If you had to pick 3 words to describe Cherished, what would they be?
Passionate, swoony and heartfelt.
Besides reading or writing what are some of your other hobbies?
I love watching movies, spending time with friends and my new addiction – going to the local high school football games. Nothing beats working through the stress of the week by cheering madly for your favorite team. GO LOBOS!!
Is there a question you always wanted to be asked, if so what is it and please answer it?
Hmmm. How about “Ach lass, will ye travel back in time with me and help fold me plaid?” Hahaha was that what you had in mind? I would love a sexy Highlander to appear and whisk me away! Just as long as it’s a highlander from a romance book because I don’t recall ever reading about a stinky one so my imagination can handle that!
(I must say I think that is a perfect answer.lol. I love it!!)
Anything else you want to share?
Thank you so much for having me on your blog today Amber! I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who has shared their support with me. Whether it’s been as a follower of my blog, a friend on Facebook and Twitter or reading my novellas, I really appreciate it! I have a lot of exciting things planned so I hope you all enjoy it!

For a moment, Darcy almost convinced herself the last twelve hours didn’t happen. As image after image hits her, the sinking realization of all she’s lost overwhelms her and all she can think of is to run. Run far away where her shame can’t find her, and most of all, where she’ll never have to see the look of blame in Mason’s eyes. Feeling like a complete failure, she scrambles to make plans. But the voice of her mate-to-be penetrates her frantic thoughts, asking for the chance to show her just how much she is loved.
It hurts Mason deeply to hear Darcy’s thoughts, knowing the events of the previous night have completely rattled her. Grieving over the death of his beloved sister Jasmine, Mason knows he has to act fast. Darcy is all he’s ever wanted and the idea of life without her is unacceptable. Armed with his unswerving love and wolfish charm, he sets out to remind Darcy just how valuable she is and why there is no one else for him but her.
Can Darcy let go of the shame of failure consuming her or will Mason convince her that after all is said and done, she truly is… Cherished?
