A Little Bit About Heather:
When I'm not writing or reading, I'm helping the hubby with DIY projects in our home (he woodworks – I paint) or I'm lying on the beach, soaking in those delicious, pre-cancerous rays.
I love Mexican food, hate socks with sandals, and if my house was on fire, the one thing I’d grab is my DVR player.
Favorite movies: Newsies and Little Rascals
Favorite authors: Richelle Mead, Warren Murphy, Cassandra Clare
Favorite bands: Kings of Leon, Blue October, Sea Wolf, Paramore
And Now for the Interview
A lot of times in books the girl has to choose between 2 guys, is there a book that you totally did not agree with her choice. Tell us who, and why.
Amanda Hocking's Trylle Trilogy. I can't say who she chose because that would be spoilery but I fell in love with Finn first and a girl never forgets her first ;) Oh and I'm reading Andrea Cremer's Nightshade series - just finished Wolfsbane - and I am definitely Team Ren! Sorry, Shay.
Where do you get your books from, buy them (where from), library, or somewhere else?
It's a combination. If I am starting a new series, I will get book one from the library to see if I like it. Once I'm hooked, though, I'll be first in line at Borders (my closest bookstore) on opening day for the next in the series!!
What is the last book you read that you totally fell in love with?
Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. I love how she captures the alpha wolf mentality.
If you could meet an author alive or dead who would it be and what would you say?
I can't pick just one. I know everyone has that one single favorite but I have way too many. I'll say this: My favorite writer/mentor/friend is Warren Murphy and I already have him in my corner. We have 'business lunches' and talk about the old days of New York publishing. SO much fun!
If you could go on a girls night out with any 5 book characters who would you pick and why?
Oooh, this is a fun one! Okay, Calla (Nightshade)- she's an alpha I want on my side! Clary (Mortal Instruments) - I just love her "who needs a boy to get something done?" attitude, Isabelle (from the Shiver series) - because she would know how to have a good time...
Rose & Lissa (Vampire Academy) -
who wouldn't want to party with royalty and her personal bodyguard?
A book world you would love to live in?
Mortal Instruments series- I want to move to Idris!
You have no books at all to read and you really want to read, what book are you going to grab from your stash and do a reread?
Twilight. I've reread it more than any other book I own. Trying to dissect the secret to WHY I flipping love it so much for a book that moves so slow. Still haven't figured it out.
Is there a book you think is amazing, yet not a lot of other people do or its just not very popular. (if so tell us about it)
This is Graceanne's Book by P.L. Whitney... I don't really know how to explain this one. It's just... indescribaby epic. It's not paranormal. It's general fiction and it's beyond anything. I cried at the end but not because it was sad. It wasn't a happy ending, either. It was just... hope. Lovely.
What is the first book you fell in love with?
Your bookshelf is on fire and you can only take what you can carry, what are you grabbing?
I'd grab my Kindle. Saving more books at once.
Your best friend asked you for a book recommendation, what book would you pick for them?
The Forever King by Warren Murphy
A book that made you cry?
What book are you anxiously waiting to read?
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
What book are you currently reading?
Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins
If you could trade places for the day with any book character who would you pick?
Oh geez... how about Elena?
I would LOVE to have her Stefan/Damon dilemma for a day ;)
You have to fight in an epic battle to save the world, what 5 characters are you picking?
Jace (Mortal Instruments), Magnus Bane (warlock- Mortal Instruments), Emmett & Jasper (Twilight), Dmitri (Vampire Academy)
Favorite book cover?
Fallen by Lauren Kate
If you could pair up 2 characters from different books who would you pair up?
Hmm, I think Luce (Fallen) and Damon (Evermore series) would be a good match. Not that their current matches
don't work but the 2 books/heroines have enough similarities
that I think they would be a good couple.
Where is your favorite reading spot?
My bed or my couch corner, next to the fireplace.
Oh, or the beach/pool in the summer.
This and That
Favorite Social Network?
Favorite TV Show?
Day or Night?
Summer or Winter?
Thanks so much Heather For an AwesomeSauce Interview!
Will totally be adding my 2 cents in the comments. lol!!
More About Heather's Books and Where to Find Her
I killed a girl last night. I did it with my bare hands and an old piece of pipe I found lying next to the dumpster. But that’s not the part that got me. The part that scared me, the part I can’t seem to wrap my head around and still has me reeling, was that when she charged me, her body shifted – and then she was a wolf. All snapping teeth and extended claws. But by the time I stood over her lifeless body, she was a girl again. That’s about the time I went into shock… And that was the moment he showed up.
