From GoodreadsOnce upon a time there was a girl who was special.
This is not her story.
Unless you count the part where I killed her.
Sixteen-year-old Alison has been sectioned in a mental institute for teens, having murdered the most perfect and popular girl at school. But the case is a mystery: no body has been found, and Alison's condition is proving difficult to diagnose. Alison herself can't explain what happened: one minute she was fighting with Tori -- the next she disintegrated. Into nothing. But that's impossible. Right?
I am surprised by how much I really liked this book. I read it in 2 sittings and was totally engrossed in it. Its really not my usual paranormal romance book. There's really no romance just a kiss. And its not very paranormal more has a sci-fi twist.
Most of the story takes place in a mental hospital with Alison trying to figure out what happened that night with Tori. Her family ends up turning their back on her and her one and only friend only tries to get info so she can tell everyone about it. Then comes in someone who wants to help. He helps her deal with her problems and he believes her when she finally opens herself up. But he comes with a whole bag of secrets himself.
The ending was weird. But it was good. Its hard to explain its just totally not something I have ever read before. Its a really unique story and something that totally grabbed my attention from page 1 and held it until the very end! It has some crazy twists and I am not going to give any of that away. Its definitely a book to check out.
"Once upon a time there was a girl who was extraordinary. She could hear colors, and see sounds, and taste the difference between truths and lies."
