Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
Review by Amber R
Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she's falling for a shape-shifter, and she's the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours, but still. Normal.
Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.
First thing I'd like to say is my heart went out to Evie when she realized that the IPCA had her classified as a paranormal. I felt so bad for her. All she ever wanted was a normal life and the poor girl got everything but that. She can see through the glamours that the paranormal place over their true looks to fool humans. It's something that no one has been able to do. Once she finds this out, she feels betrayed by Raquel, the only mother type figure she's ever had. Not to mention, Raquel doesn't believe her about Reth. A faerie who is kinda obsessed with Evie.
Evie finds out some stuff about herself that she never imagined would happen. She also meets a shape shifter guy who she really likes. All of sudden things change fast. Evie is on the run because of some crazy paranormal going around killing other paranormals. I know, it's crazy. She's finally getting a taste for a "normal" teenage life. But then the killer is coming after her. Things are definitely not what they seem.
