Reader Behind the Author Presents
About Jillian DoddLike Jadyn, Jillian Dodd has drank from a keg in a cornfield, did attend the University of Nebraska, and once spent half a day walking beans.
Unlike Jadyn, she does know all the words to Dear Old Nebraska U.
She currently resides in Texas with her family, where she is working on the sequel to That Boy.
She is a voracious reader herself and can easily lose a day immersed in a good book. She is an avid college football fan and active in her sorority's alumni group.
She was lucky enough to find her own prince in college, and they have two amazing children and a Maltese named Sugar Bear.

More about Jillian and her Book Below. But now for the interview
What are some things that make you want to read a book?
I read a lot of different types of books. I love romance, young adult books and anything to do with espionage. I read a lot of series because I like feeling like I already know the characters and finding out what else is going to happen in their lives. Books are, and have always been, a sort of escape for me. I love to get lost in the world of a good book. I think the setting of the book can be realistic or fantasy, but what draws me to the book is the characters. To me a good book means I connect with the characters, feel what they feel, experience what they are going through.
Rebecca Bloomwood, from the Shopaholic series (she'd make us laugh and take us to sales), A grown up Georgia Nicolson (she's too funny), Serena from Gossip Girl (she could get us into all the cool places), Cammie Morgan from Ally Carter's Gallagher Girls Series (she'd find us trouble or an adventure) and Stephanie Plum (in the hopes that Ranger would come rescue us.)
What book are you currently reading?
Right now, I am working hard on editing and revising my new book, the start of a new Series, called The Keatyn Chronicles. Book One is titled, Push me over the edge of the love cliff. I've read that about a million times already. (Okay, maybe not quite a million.) I just started Steve Berry's The Jefferson Key, and have sitting on my self to read next, There's no Place Like Home (Secret's of my Hollywood Life Series), and Alex Rider, Scorpia Rising.
I feel in love with Nancy Drew books. I really wanted to be Nancy, be a spy. My cousin and I would even write each other letters in code. I also was in love with Ned, her boyfriend. He was strong, a good athlete and he always seemed to know when she needed to be rescued, but he also let her do her own thing. Now that I think about it, he is a lot like Phillip in my book, That Boy. He lets Jadyn do her thing, knows she is stubborn and strong willed, but he's always there when she needs him.
If you could meet an author, dead or alive, who would you pick and why?
Definitely Carolyn Keene, author of the Nancy Drew series. I can't even believe how many books she wrote.
I thought Harry Potter's world was amazing. The author described the world in a way that you felt like you were a part of it. I think that would be pretty cool. I also loved Narnia. The idea of being able to go through a mirror to another world occasionally is very appealing. Especially if in that world you were like royalty. But I think if I could choose a book setting, I would live in NY and be wildly wealthy like the girls in Gossip Girl.
What character from a book would be your lover if you could have one?Definitely Danny from my book. He's wild, naughty, and just plain hot. Or Gabriel Allon who is a kickass international operative, but also a painter. (Daniel Silva's books)
How many books do you own?
I have an obsession with hard cover books, and a library full of them. I'd say I have well over five hundred. My book, however, is available as an ebook. This seems to be the wave of the future. But it is my dream, to hold my printed hardcover book in my hands.
What is your favorite genre?
I love romance, chick lit, young adult, and thrillers, like spy and mystery books.
About Jillians Book
That Boy - A fun, contemporary romance about falling in love with your best friend.
You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits.
There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it's windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He's the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He's pretty much irresistible.
Equally crush worthy is Phillip. Adorable, sweet Phillip, who I have known since birth. Phillip has dark hair, a perfect smile, brown eyes, and the sexiest voice I have ever heard. He's the boy I talk to every night before I go to sleep. The boy who rescues me, the boy who can read my mind, the boy who is always there for me, the boy who tries to keep me out of trouble, the boy who irritatingly keeps getting hotter, and whose strong arms always seem to find their way around me. And when he gives me that grin, I can never say no.
One boy will give me my very first kiss.
One boy will teach me to make out.
One boy will take me to prom.
And finally, one boy will ask me to marry him.
They will both be my best friends.
But only one of them will be the boy I fall in love with.
Only one of them is That Boy.
