Jenna's Bio

The Devil Inside (Morgan Kingsley, Exorcist, Book 1)Jenna Black is your typical writer. Which means she's an "experience junkie." She got her BA in physical anthropology and French from Duke University.
Once upon a time, she dreamed she would be the next Jane Goodall, camping in the bush making fabulous discoveries about primate behavior. Then, during her senior year at Duke, she did some actual research in the field and made this shocking discovery: primates spend something like 80% of their time doing such exciting things as sleeping and eating.

Now lets get to know a little more about THE READER BEHIND THE AUTHOR

What is the last book you purchased?
White Cat (Curse Workers)I purchased three books while at the Romantic Times Booklover's Convention: WHITE CAT by Holly Black, RAGE, by Jackie Morse Kessler, and THE ARK by Boyd Morrison.

What was the first book you remember reading and totally falling in love with?
A LITTLE PRINCESS by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Were you always a reader?
Yes, for as long as I can remember.

What book are you currently reading?
GraveminderI'm reading an ARC of GRAVEMINDER, by Melissa Marr. I'm a big fan of hers, and this one does not disappoint.

Do you have any books on pre order? if so would you like to share what they are?
I don't do pre-orders. I just put things on my wish list and then keep an eye out for them. Some of the books on my wish list now are: SINS OF THE DEMON and MY LIFE AS A WHITE TRASH ZOMBIE by Diana Rowland; THE HOUR OF DUST AND ASHES by Kelly Gay; and SPELLBOUND by Kelley Armstrong.

How many books do you think you read in a year?
This is a pretty wild guess, but I'd say around 25-30 new books. If I weren't writing, I'd read a lot more. However, books are so addictive for me there are times I know I don't dare pick one up or I'll end up sitting there and reading instead of doing my writing. I often reread familiar favorites when I'm writing, because I know what's going to happen and therefore have an easier time putting them down. I probably reread around 20-25 books a year.

What are some of your favorite books in the genre you write?
Cry Wolf (Alpha and Omega, Book 1)I always have trouble answering this question, because I know so many of the authors of my favorite books, and I never want to leave anyone out. I'll therefore stick to only authors I don't know personally. Some of my favorites are the Mercy Thompson and Alpha & Omega series by Patricia Briggs. Also the Weather Wardens and Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine, and the Dresden Files books by Jim Butcher. In the more romance-oriented series, I'm also loving the Guild Hunter books by Nalini Singh and anything by J.R. Ward.

Favorite book couple?
That would probably be Anna and Charles from the Alpha & Omega series.

But personal matters will have to wait when the opportunistic owner of The Seven Deadlies demon club in Philadelphia enlists Morgan's help in heading off a crisis: It seems that demons have started showing up at the hot spot in alarming numbers and in the unwilling bodies of rough trade club-goers. Two years later, Gray reappears, bringing murder, mystery, and an unbelievable tale of Guardians, blood-thirsty Killers, and his own transformation with him.
