The Seven Day Wonder
I have to say writing The Demon Kiss was probably one of the most exhilarating creative experiences I’ve ever had.  I’d recently finished the first book in the series, The Trouble with Spells, and I had given it to my then 14 year old niece to read, and also to my mother-in-law, so I could get two different perspectives of the story.  I’ll never forget the phone call from my mother-in-law, telling me she’d finished the book and she loved it!  She said to hurry up and get writing because she had to find out what happened and she didn’t want to have to wait!  Her excitement over the story made me excited as well and I honestly sat down that very same minute and giddily began working on The Demon Kiss.   
I had a very vague outline in my head of where I wanted to go with the story, but I was just as eager to see the real story unfold in print.  I don’t know if it was my mother-in-law’s passion for book one that put me in my groove, or if my writing muse went into overdrive, but I honestly couldn’t keep up with typing this story as fast as I needed too.  I had to open another document to write my ideas down on as they came to me during writing so I wouldn’t forget them later.  I moved my laptop next to my bed so I didn’t have to keep getting up in the middle of the night to right something else down. I even forgot to eat, I was so wrapped up in the story.  Thankfully my husband would bring me some dinner in the evenings or I probably would have starved.  I would stay up to write every night until I was doing the “jell-o neck head bob” trying to stay awake, then I would sleep for about four hours and get up to start the process all over again. 
So, after averaging a little over 12,000 words a day, The Demon Kiss was finished in seven days and proudly presented to my mother-in-law and my niece once again.  Thankfully, it passed their test (they loved it) and with a little tip from my niece I moved on to the writing of book three…but that’s a story for another time!  I was amazed and tickled that the project had gone so quickly since I’d never done anything like this before, or since for that matter.  
I’m so excited to be able to tour this book with all of you!  I like to talk to people, so I look forward to visiting with you in the comments each day and sharing things with you about series and The Demon Kiss!  Here’s a little teaser: 

   I felt an emotional barrier break and a sob catch in my throat.

   “What’s the matter, baby?” he crooned softly against my ear, as he rubbed his cheek up against mine.

   “We have just been through so much,” I choked out, feeling my carefully controlled emotions suddenly spinning out of control. “I can’t believe you’re really here with me sometimes.

   It’s like I’m dreaming and I’m afraid every time I go to sleep I’ll wake up and find you’re going to be gone again. I’m so happy when I’m with you, yet at the same time I see this dark looming cloud which is threatening our future.”

   “I’m really here, Portia, and I’m not going to leave you,” he said, as he pulled me closer, kissing me hard and passionately as if trying to drive his point home.

   He rolled me over onto my back as he leaned over the top of me. The kissing intensified so greatly at this point that I felt as if he were bruising my tender lips beneath his own.

   He broke away from me suddenly, looking deep into my eyes, and I could see several emotions pass through them.

   “Touch me, Portia. I’m real and I belong completely to you,” he said, breathing into my ear as he reached down to lift one of my hands to place it over his shirt on his chest, near his heart.  

Author Bio:
Lacey Weatherford has always had a love of books.  She wanted to become a writer after reading her first Nancy Drew novel at the age of eight.
When she is not reading, writing, blogging, or doing book tours for her current series, she can often be found out at sporting/musical events which her kids are in or texting like crazy with her best friend.
Lacey resides in the White Mountains of Arizona, where she lives with her husband, six children, one son-in-law, and the family dog Sophie.
