UnearthlyUnearthly (Unearthly #1)

Review by Amber I

In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .

Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.
Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.
As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?
Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.

My Thoughts

Well I did it again, I got a book I really had no idea at all what is was about. I just kept seeing it around, wanted to read it for the 2011 Debut Author Challenge, and hey the cover is pretty. So I started reading it and realized it was about Angels. Now Angel books lately have just been a big let down, but NOT THIS BOOK! It is by far the best Angel Book I have read!!

I loved it. I loved the whole concept of her having a purpose. Clara was just a likeable character and you really could connect with her. The story was so fun and unique and I just fell in love with it. I couldn't put it down. It took some cool twists that I was surprised by and really enjoyed. All the characters in this book bring something to this story and I enjoyed them all.

I really think everyone should jump into this book like I did and enjoy the ride. I was so happy that I had no idea about anything going on!!

I can't wait to read more. I have so many questions and I want to know what is going to happen.
