The Goddess Test (Harlequin Teen)

Name 1 Reason to Read THE GODDESS TEST
Aimee- Because it has a little something for everyone, and if it sounds like your sort of thing, might as well give it a shot, yeah?

Amber- Because its a great YA book and it has a really unique story line you do not often see. You also don't get long over done explanations, we just get to jump right in some situations. She also adds a new twist to greek myth which was really fun and refreshing to me.

Name 2 of your Favorite Scenes in The Goddess Test
Aimee-1. In Chapter 13, the scene between Henry and Kate on Christmas.
2. Chapter 19
Amber- 1. I have to agree with Aimee, Chapter 13 the scene with Henry and Kate on Christmas.
2. I can't remember exactly the chapter but I think it was near Chapter 20. Where she is finally judged and all that was revealed in that meeting.

Name 3 of your favorite side characters in The Goddess Test
1. Ava
2. James
3. Ella
1. Kate's Mom
2. Ava
3. Ella
Aimée Carter

From the author biography ~

Aimée Carter was born and raised in Michigan, where she currently resides. She started writing fan fiction at eleven, began her first original story four years later, and hasn’t stopped writing since. Her first novel for young adults, The Goddess Test, will be published by Harlequin Teen in May 2011. The sequel, Goddess Interrupted, will follow in February 2012.

I'm really not very interesting at all. I attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and received a degree in Screen Arts and Cultures (a fancy way of saying I was forced to watch a lot of old movies) with a subconcentration in Screenwriting. I write. I watch a lot of new movies. Read a lot of books. Tweet too much. Love dogs and have two spoiled Papillons.

I'm represented by the magical Rosemary Stimola of Stimola Literary Studio, and on very rare occasions I blog over at WordPress. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

The Goddess Test (Harlequin Teen)

Goddess Test #1 - Harlequin Teen - April 26, 2011

Every girl who has taken the test has failed.

Now it's Kate's turn.

It's always been just Kate and her mom--and now her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld--and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy--until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

If she fails...

Some of this and that about Aimee and/or Books

» Is The Goddess Test a retelling of the myth of Hades and Persephone?

While there are some similar elements between the myth of Hades and Persephone and The Goddess Test, the book is not a retelling of that myth. Instead, without giving too much away, it would be best classified as a modern-day sequel.

» Will there be a sequel to The Goddess Test?

There will be! The Goddess Test is the first in a trilogy, and the second book, Goddess Interrupted, will be released in late January 2012. The third book is currently untitled and will likely be released in late 2012.

** Top That is just something fun I thought I would try out. It'll be posted whenever I find an author who wants to do it. Top That is just where I ask the author a few questions and then I answer them too. I actually thought of the name from an 80's movie called  Teen Witch. There's a fun scene with a song called "Top That"lol**
