Reader Behind the Author Presents

CC Hunter's Just released her first YA Debut Book Born at Midnight which hit shelves March 29th!

C.C. Hunter grew up in Alabama, where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and regularly rescued potential princes, in the form of Alabama bullfrogs, from her brothers. Today, she's still fascinated with lightning bugs, mostly wears shoes, but has turned her focus to rescuing mammals. She now lives in Texas with her four rescued cats, one dog, and a prince of a husband, who for the record, is so not a frog. When she's not writing, she's reading, spending time with her family, or is shooting things-with a camera, not a gun.
C.C. Hunter is a pseudonym. Her real name is Christie Craig and she also writes humorous romantic suspense romance novels for Grand Central. www.christie-craig.com

Lets Get to Know about The Reader Behind The Author

What is the last book you purchased?
Unearthly
My last bookstore run was about a week ago.  In YA, I bought Unearthly by Cynthia Hand and Falling Under by Gwen Hayes and a non-fiction that looks like it’ll be a lot of fun called Myths and Legends by John Pemberton.  I also picked up The Secret of Cypriere by Jana Deleon, which is an adult romantic mystery.

What was the first book you remember reading and totally falling in love with?
Charlotte's Web
Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. I don’t know why but that book really resonated with me.  Maybe it’s because I’m a romantic at heart, but I sort of looked at the book as a love story between Charlotte and Wilbur.  Hey, what can I say?  I’ve always been a sucker for cross-species romances.

Where you always a reader?

Well, no.  I’m dyslexic, and I was probably in the third grade before I could really read.  But, trust me, I’ve more than made up for lost time.  LOL.

What book are you currently reading?

  Unearthly.

Do you have any books on pre order? if so would you like to share what they are?

Not at this time.  But does it count that I have over 200 unread books in my house?

If you could meet an author alive or dead who would you pick?

Hmm.  That’s a good question.  I suppose I’d pick E.B. White just so I could tell him how much I loved his book.  And, yeah, I’d probably ask if he wrote it as an inter-species romance.  LOL.

How many books do you think you read in a year?

  Forty or more.

What are some of your favorite books in the genre you write?

Glass Houses (Morganville Vampires, Book 1)  That’s such a hard question to answer because I really enjoy a lot of different YA novels so I’d hate to leave out someone.  So, how about if I just list some of the books I’ve read recently and enjoyed:  Firelight by Sophie Jordan, Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynne Childs, Glimmerglass by Jenna Black, 13 to Life by Shannon Delany, Evermore by Alyson Noel, Glass Houses by Rachel Caine and The House of Night by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast.

If you could save one person from dying in a book who would you pick?

Yikes, okay…just a bit of self promotion here, but probably the Shadow Falls character who dies in book three, Taken at Dusk.  I’m gonna cry so hard when this person dies.  But his or her death does serve a purpose, as all deaths in books do.  Even though I know it has to happen, it still makes me a little sad.

Favorite book couple?
Hmm.  That’s another hard question.  I’d probably say Bella and Edward, although I was really rooting for Jacob.  (Something about those smokin’ hot werewolves. LOL.)

If your best friend asked you to recommend a book, what would you pick for them

I guess it would depend on what her reading tastes were and the kind of story she wanted to read at the moment.  I really think that our moods can play a big role in whether or not we’ll enjoy a comedy or a thriller.

This and That

Hard cover or paperback
Paperback.

Book or some form of e reader
Book.  I read in the bed and sometimes in the bathtub and I’d be too afraid I’d drop the eReader.  LOL.

Vampire or Shifter
I’m fond of both.

YA or Adult
Both.

Books stored on bookshelf or wherever there is room
Wherever and everywhere.  Trust me, if you saw my office, you would know what I mean.  LOL.

  2. Awesome interview! Lol, love her answer to book shelves or anywhere and everywhere! I'm both as I haven't room on my bookshelves which leaves them full and then books piled on top of my stereo, file boxes and whereever I can safely put them that they won't get hurt!
