Anyways my favorite was 90s alternative I loved Green Day (I mean I was literally obsessed with them lol) Anyways some others were Weezer, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Silverchair (went to their concert in 7th grade) Pearl Jam, and man so so many more!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite 90's singer is Kylie Minogue and 90's band is The Corrs. My Fave 90's song would be Come Undone by Duran Duran. :D

My favorite song or artist from the 90's was "Genie In A Bottle" by Christina Aguilera. LOL. I was like IN LOVE with her music back then. Like NO JOKE. I loved all those bands like N'sync, Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears! Those we're the MAIN bands and people I listened to in the 90's! They're so freaking AWESOME I swear! Man the days where Justin and Britney we're dating. The good days. :)

Well, my favorite singer is still Garth Brooks who I was lucky enough to meet once (he was super nice). Best song by him (hands down) would have to be The Dance, which I can listen to non-stop. ^_^

Oh, the 90s...
ReplyDeleteI had this very strange borderline-obsession with Chumbawamba's Tubthumper album (1997). I discovered their song "Tubthumping" in fifth grade, and I have a very vivid memory of taking the CD to school and playing the song (quite loudly) during indoor recess. I'm pretty sure (a) I had no real idea what it was about (e.g. whiskey, vodka, lager, cider--apple cider, right?) and (b) we got in trouble for playing it and didn't really understand why.
Fun question. :-) I love the WVMP novels, although I haven't read the third.

I loved N*Sync! My room was plastered with their posters and I had a huge crush on Justin Timberlake.

I love The Corrs, I got a copy of most of their albums. Even the MTV and live albums like the unplugged. I enjoy almost every song they release. I remember when we got a program in our school, a friend of mine will be singing a song from different a band then I insist to sing "So Young" from the corrs. She hesitated during the rehearsal since she don't know the song. So she decided to go back from her first choice. But when their time to play I accidentally play the minus one of So Young. She just sing with it :D It was a fun performance. Such a memory ^__^

Thanks you so much!
I have no idea what my favourite 90's song was! I really don't! I know I a fan of Boyzone and Westlife and I loved The Corrs as well. Maybe Meatloaf's 'I'd do anything for Love' because the first album I had in the 90's was his and it belonged to my older brothers but they got me my first tape player and gave me that album to play in it! Don't know though cause there were so many good songs (unforunatley more really bad songs! Lol!) that I'd probably hear another and immediately change my mind! After all Destiny's Child and Christina Aguilera were releasing music in the 90's as well and I loved them as well!

ReplyDeleteThere are so many good bands and songs from the 90's but to choose one I would select Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U mainly because she has such a unique and unusual voice.

90s music...? Let's see, I was a toddler back then. But I'd say Nirvana (although I love Green Day lots too). I've had Smells Like Teen Spirit stuck in my head for weeks at a time after playing way too much Guitar Hero to be considered healthy. That song (and Guitar Hero) grew into my Nirvana obsession, I guess. I'm not as obsessed as I once used to be though. I think that might be because I haven't played Guitar Hero in months....

90s music...hmmm...I can't quite remember all the bands. But basically the very very first NOW CD was a good one. I remember actually liking Hanson and "Mmbop"!! Spice Girls, NYSYNC more than Backstreet Boys. A lot of that pop stuff!
ReplyDeleteOooh what stinks is that I can't think of anything right now! I do like 90s music but my brain is going flat at this and not being able to remember names or titles!

ReplyDeleteNo seriously... Mariah Carey was at her best during the 90s, she had some fab tunes then. But I must admit to a bit of a thing for the boy bands... Take That, Westlife, New Kids on the Block, the Backstreet Boys!! I'm sad, I know!

WOW favorite 90's band/song. That is a tough one. It was a decade of such diversity. Grunge, Rap, boy bands...and the list goes on. That decade even country was nice to listen to. I'm all over the board. Like most genres except Rap. I prefer to understand the words. Now doesn't that date me!!!!Darnit nothing is sticking in the old brain...I liked Nirvana, Madonna, Green Day, Brookes & Dunn, Boys 2 Men. Nope can't come up with a favorite. Sorry!!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance.
I was born in 1995 so I don't have much idea about the songs in the 90s. I'm gonna choose NSync and A1 since boy bands are the only ones I can think of. I loved I Drive Myself Crazy and Tearin' Up My Heart. I'm a follower.

ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to be typical and say that my fave band of the 90's was and will always be the Spice Girls. They're the very essence of what the 90's were. Fun, flirty and just plain crazy.
I look back now and shake my head, but I still love their music (and yes, I know I'm loosing cool points by admitting it) and still listen to them all the time.
Every time I hear one of their songs I remember the fun I had as a young girl, dancing around my room and singing along (off key, but who cared).
Ahhh, the good ol' days....
Happy Easter Amanda!

Ok, well I was born in the 90s so was pretty young to be into music but I used to love the Spice Girls. I had a video of the movie Spice World, and used to watch it sooo much. And I made up dances to some of their songs. I guess they're good but to my young, easily influenced mind they were awesome. Basically they're a part of my childhood.

And I will throw in a fascinating/interesting fact for the owner of this blog ;) No laughing allowed either...

My favorite 90's band was definitely The Backstreet Boys, I was obsessed. My bedroom walls were covered with posters of them. My sister & I used to make up our own dances to the songs as well as learn the music video choreography, lol! Also my best friend got me tickets to their concert my senior year of high school because I never got to see them back in the late 90's when I was in elementary/middle school (oh how embarrassing).

I can listen to most anything but my favourite songs are always associated with memories - I graduated high school in 1992 and Life is A Highway by Tom Cochrane was kinda an anthem, I got married in 1995 and my husband chose Bon Jovi's "Always" for us to dance to at the reception, my oldest daughter born in 1996 is named for an Aerosmith song (Simoriah), and in late 1999 I lost a friend and we played Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz at her funeral by her request. SO they all are special - and several more

The 90s (early years) is also my favorite music era. I listened to a lot of grunge and rock. Some of my favorite bands were (and still are) Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, STP, Primus, and Pearl Jam. I love the 90's not only for the style but for the music as well! I was so young in the 90's I was born in 92 and only mostly remember the late 90's yep. I know. I'm young! All the "bands" I used to listen to during that time were mostly boybands since my older sister was a teen at that time and was very much in love with them and you know how it works. Monkey see Monkey do. I was 7 when the 90's ended! haha. Anyways, there was the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, N'sync, Boyzone, Westlife, Blue and W*i*t*c*h. Now, I feel like listening to them again! But they're all in tapes and we don't have a tape receiver anymore. -.- Oh how the times have changed!

I can't remember much about the 90's but I remember liking NSYNC's Tearin' Up My Heart a lot. I remember me and my sister (she was so little at that time) dancing along to their song. Also Backstreet Boy's Get Down song. I remember our dance step was like bouncing around in sitting position like rabbits (because of 'get down, get down and move it all around'). We were always exhausted by the time the chorus was over.

Oh man, now if you had asked about the 80's music, i would totally rock that...because Im a total 80's girl...Heavy metal girl all the way, with the big hair any everything...I remember the first day I moved to college with my best friend, wearing our big hair, ripped jeans with black sharpie writing all over them, and out Bon Jovi and Motley Crue posters hanging on our wall...the rest of the floor, were preppies...well, after we met and became BIG TIME friends, they finally told us that they thought we were potheads...funny because we had never tried the stuff...

ReplyDeleteI really got into dance music after that. There was a whole phase of listening to Culture Beat. They sang that Mr. Vain song. I cranked the tunes on my car stereo and my friends and I drove around everywhere with dance music blasting. We also loved to play the Night at the Roxbury soundtrack.
I left town in the later 90s and went away to university. I met a friend who was really into Metallica, so I listened to Fuel a lot with him. He was obsessed with that song.

My love for Nirvana transformed into an obsession with Foo Fighters (especially since Dave Grohl did the entire first album himself, and I absolutely heart him). I grew up in a town that had 2 Spanish radio stations, an oldie station, and three country music stations, so MTV was how I got all my music "news" and my car's tape player got a workout. I didn't like a lot of 90s stuff, but one of my absolute favorite songs is from the 90s - The Freshman by The Verve Pipe. ReplyDeleteOh Gosh... Favorite band from the 90's? I'm so going to stain my reputation by saying this, but... I was OBSESSED with Nsync! LOL I used to like axé (a type of brazilian music - that, btw, is not very good) a lot, until one of my best friends introduced me to the world of Boy Bands. Oh, I got completely sucked in by it: I started listening to Backstreet Boys, Five and, of course, Nsync. I remember this friend of mine taped all their songs for me (ON A CASSETE TAPE! Do you even remember what that is? I still have mine ;P HAHAHA) and I would listen to it NONSTOP! And obviously I would dance and sing at the top of lungs (I DRIIIIIVE MYSEEEELF CRAAAAZY, CRAAAAZY, WANTING YOU THE WAY THAT I DOOOO UUHHH UUUUH) Well, you get the idea. I bought posters of them and put it on my walls and like that wasn't enought I DREW LITTLE HEARTS all around JC (because I liked him the most. At the time I was like: Justin, who?) Yeah... dark times, my friend. But I had fun =) Today this friend of mine likes death metal and I like indie music. Go figure, right?

ReplyDelete-Smashing Pumpkins
-Foo Fighters
-Live
-Weezer (they were even my first concert at 14, when their blue album debuted in 94!)
-CAKE
-Beck
-Pearl Jam
I was a teenager during the grunge era...i wore kicks when they were called One Stars and baggy jeans with flannel (I'm so glad that fashion is out and I wish my mom had taught me better, but I've since learned). The JNCO jeans and tiny babydoll tees...god the 90's were great!
Oh my gosh, 90's music? Does LFO count? I loved them in middle school. LOL. Girl on TV? My jam. Wow, that is so embarrassing. I found myself bopping to N*Sync too, even say them in concert. Byebyebye ;)
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway!!! I follow, of course :)

Oh, I was ALL about Paula Abdul in the 90s. I still know all the words to "Cold-Hearted."

Let me see, my favorite 90's band has to be Spice Girls. I really didn't like them until I'd say 1999, a group of my friends decided to do Spice Girls for our 8th grade talent show. I remember sitting in the audience, I laughed so hard I almost peed myself. The singing wasn't bad but the dancing was really horrible, one person tripped another, someone else got an elbow to an eye, and then someone fell into the stage curtains. As long as I live Spice Girls will be my favorite 90's band. :)

ReplyDeleteThere is so much I think of for 90s music!! I fell in love with Sarah Mclachaln's music in the 90s. I remember loving Mr. Big's "To Be With You". My husband and I who had a long distance relationship used to listen to Collective Soul and sing together over the phone to their songs. And finally, One Headlight is a song that is definitive of the 90s for me!
I don't really like the music in the 90's but I listened N'sync, Backstreet Boys and my favorite song was Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely- Backstreet Boys. The fun is how he was Justin Timberlake back then and how he is now.

ReplyDeleteI used to love some Brazilian artists too, like Sandy & Jr. and others - I was just a child!!! Some songs that remember me the 90s in Brazil are: O Universo Precisa de Vocês (Power Rangers) [Sandy & Jr], Vai Ter Que Rebolar [Sandy & Jr.], Não Direi [Hércules], Tudo Tudo [Chiquititas] and also Doce Mel [Xuxa]. OMG! I was really just a child :)

My favourite singer of the 90's is Christina Aguilera. I love all her songs, but the most personal one is I'm OK. Even though it is my favourite I rarely listen to it because it hits a little too close too home.

I have a lot of favourites from the 90's but I think one of my favourites has to be the Cranberries.I love the indiepop, Irish folk sound that they have. There sound is unique as is Dolores Riordan.Who hasn't heard the song "Linger" and hasn't sung along to it.Recently they reunited to make a reunion album and tour.you can follow Dolores @DolORiordon on twitter.
ReplyDeleteOf course the 90's also had Grunge music out of California.Nirvanna ,Smashing pumpkins all gave a new feel to the music scene.their music style continues to be felt in the music genre as the rifts and the feel of the music is continued in other forms as well as advancing the high energy concerts artists are expected to give because of the grunge band.

My favorite song in the 90's was Mmmbop. When I was in 5th grade, I was obsessed with Hanson. I even went to their concert with my mom and a couple friends. My tastes have changed drastically since then, but I'll always remember my first favorite band.

Hmmm. The 90s, I was in college. The one song in particular I can remember is Rump Shaker by Wreckx-N-Effect. We would dance on the tables in our sorority house when the song came on. Now that was a fun time!
ReplyDeletebeckerjo at verizon dot net
The only songs I really remember listening to in the 90s are I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) by Meat Loaf (I remember it because my dad loved them and my mom had a hissy fit when she found out he taught me all of the words) and C'mon N' Ride It (The Train) by Quad City DJ's (I was convinced it said 'come on Karate Train, karate' so that's how I always sang it). I was a pretty awesome kid.
ReplyDeletebittenbooks@gmail.com
Nirvana and The Cranberries were some of my favourites. Every time I hear their songs i get whiplash from my crazy hair head nods. Some songs that are insanely whiplashy are Zombie (Cranberries) and Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana) (for the latter you should really see me playing it on Rock Band and yes i'm usually on microphone).

But I remember in the end of 90's era, it's the beginning of Boyband era, and I always love to hear Backstreet Boys! And my favorite song is "Everybody"
They're still my favorite boyband until now ^_^.
